His one-man special runs on Comedy Central, and he has made appearances on "Viva Variety." On HBO docu-comedy "Mo Laughter," Nipsey functions as narrator, analyst, and performer regarding "The Black Experience in Comedy." Daytime Television... "Your Number's Up," "Juvenile Jury," "As the World Turns," "Search for Tomorrow." Movies... "Posse," "Wildcats," "Dream One," "The Wiz," "Car 54, Where Are You?" Legitimate Theatre... "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," "Hello Dolly" Nipsey Russell holds the long run record as nightclub performer. He established it during the years that he held fourth resident jester, folk philosopher, and humorous observer of life at New York's Club Baby Grand. The stars and super stars of show business came repeatedly to see his performances and they became fans his word-of-mouth press agents. Nipsey Russell, bachelor, poet, photographer, speed typist, ex-army officer, and lexicologist cannot resist a joke about his schooling and education. He says, "I went to school at Washington High and Cincinnati University, but was educated in the streets and backstage!" His one philosophy is "keep laughing and keep living!"
