(This one, like most of the stuff I post, was pretty much freestyled as I went along. Nothing has been edited/corrected...) Untitled Piece for Those in the Water 9/11 Twin towers falling Officials calling By 9/12, help was there and much more settled Oh my bad, that was actually by 9/11 But now, nothing is even anywhere close to being settled It's as if America said "We don't meddle" at least when it comes down to helping third world countries like Black America Bet if it were Texas, we would not be seeing what we are seeing Bet if it were Washington, D.C. we would not be seeing what we are seeing Those in the water have literally had it up to HERE But who does not feel simply does not know Moreover, who does not care does not care to know Can you picture this? Can you picture this? Can you picture this? Babies crying Elders dying in the meantime you holdin on for your life and seeing others lose theirs Dead bodies being eaten by rats and you can't do nothin' else but hold on for your life... and look at that But picture this what if those dead bodies were those of your sister, your mother It's REAL easy to x out the situations of the "others" Mothers floating in one direction Babies floating in the other Husbands torn away from their wives Sisters torn away from their brothers Fathers in total disarray, nearly died trying to save their family's life but still could not... and there ain't much more energy left to fight Floating around in the same water with dead corpses, rats, sewage and just about anything else No food no water no family in many cases can you feel the pain in your soul? it is a pain that is in Diasporan bones, this pain is so old Gives me flashes of our passage when I think of our people floating around Can you imagine the pain of a mother whose infant drowned? Can you imagine the pain of a father who is the only survivor of his fam? A whole lotta nieces and nephews are looking for their estranged uncle, Sam Now the people get to see who couldn't care less Can you imagine already having hypertension and being under THIS stress? Can you imagine the pain of a child who cannot find Daddy or Mommy? Can you imagine the nerve of a president who flew right over all the sufferation yet played Great Benefactor with the Tsunami Fire burnin Fire burnin Things are out of control Chaos Confusion Elders dying Babies crying Elders and babies ALIKE are dying And many in between, too Displaced loved ones And they talk about lootin... and they talk about lootin'. These are the same ones that were hollering and hootin' when the "terrorists" came to "their" country But Lawd GAWD, let disaster strike a state It will not matter if they do not live there And they talk about,"Why didn't they just leave"? Some simply did not have the means Some simply did not want to leave And they fault the ones who did not want to leave Still, it would be very interesting to note how many of the ones insincerely asking "Why didn't they just leave?" would abandon all that they have worked towards and for for most or all (in many cases) of their lives to go to an unknown place possibly with unknown people even if they are... family How many would do that, right here.. right now? Understand, when asking, also that the answer you are likely to get now, in the absence of desparation is not likely the answer you will get later, in the presence of desparation The people wanna know why The people wanna know why the president ain't talkin' fast enough hell he ain't hardly talkin' at ALL Look like he strugglin to remember what he was told in his briefing The people wanna know why The people wanna know why the president ain't talkin' fast enough and neither is the preacher... or god... or the gods... or science... or congress The people wanna know why Do not be so quick to promise that you would not want to know why Not until you have gone without in such conditions such horrific mental physical emotional spiritual conditions... Do not be so quick to promise that you would not want to know why, too. Can you picture this? Can you picture this? Can you picture this? Babies crying Elders dying in the meantime you holdin on for your life and seeing others lose theirs

"Who Can Heat the Sun?" Watastar (freestyle) Who can heat the sun? Who can wet water? Who can make birds fly? Or a duck quack? Who can politicize the political? Tell us who can politicize the political? If it looks like a duck walks like a duck quacks like a duck should the people be penalized for calling it a duck? the people did not make the duck a duck the duck is, whether or not the people call it a duck or not the duck is The suffering the poor conditions the toxic waters in which many of them were forced to wade the media bias the skin color of those we see I'm connecting I'm connecting I'm connecting "THE DEMOCRATS WANT TO POLITICIZE THE ISSUE!" you rhetort Mind you I am neither democrat Nor Republican Nor any other less seen side of your one coin So now it's "BLACK PEOPLE WANT TO POLITICIZE THE ISSUE!" Well in that case, mind you We did not heat the sun We did not make water wet We did not make birds fly Or ducks quack And so just as we did not heat the sun or make water wet or make birds fly or ducks quack Though we (speaking of ducks) saw a duck, saw it walk, heard it quack and called it a duck We did not make it a duck And so just as we did not heat the sun or make water wet or make birds fly or ducks quack We did not politicize the political
