I got a visit from someone yesterday. An old lover who had been calling me lately to tell me that she was on her way to see me. She had been calling everyday for the last two weeks but she never showed up. Finally, she came yesterday. She came and she came, and, finally, she came. I was so involved in our lovemaking that I never heard her screaming over and over again that she loved me and she belonged to me. The fact that she kept standing me up angered me. That anger strengthened my thrusts. I loved her. She didn't deserve that satisfaction. It was an old love, but the lovin' was new. | ||

Okay Lamb, now, since you called me sarge I think it fitting that I share something with you. Now I am by no means runnin' nothing up in here. But as a reader, and this is my personal opinion, or should I say, my personal concern, I have to ask you if you think "that post was apropriate for this audience, this open board. Again, I have to say that in my personal opinion,I wonder if you've ever seen someone post about their......sexual conquests? Think about it brotha, are you being disrespectful? I think little inuendos can sometimes pass under the bar but I doubt you would want your daughter or anyones underage daughter reading about someones bedroom details. Some might have thought it was....... Look, you know I try to stay off the political fence and it's not you, and I'm not trying to check you but without the skills to say it any other way, I didn't think that was right man. You can probably tell me some mistakes I've made with my posts and we can deal with that but come on LAMBD, I thought you was a better man than that.......no, I know you are. I don't know if I have a 'best' quality. I do, however try to avoid controversy(most of the time) buy choosing my words carefully. I took a few classes on 'tone', so, even when I have to speak in front of a group I really try and use those skills to make sure people know exactly what is meant when I speak. It's a lot trickier when you write, though...You know asking this question to Abm is dangerous. Chrishayden is going to say something that none of us understand, and Cynique and Yukio will use words that we will all have to break out the Webster #12 for. Of course A_woman will just start a damn riot. What about you, Sarge? And don't ask Thumper or Brian Egeston! We will be here for a month trying to cut into their dialogue! | ||

I would bring my editorial skills to the mix and pare down some of these essays that pass for answers during discussions. LOL. As for what refreshing uniquenss certain other regulars bring to the table, in addition to their articulate intelligence, I would mention: Carey - homespun mother wit; Chris - good background information; Abm - hilarious sexual innuendo; a_womon - hip hop flavah;Yukio - in-depth perceptiveness; Lambd - poetic versatility; Thumper - great book recommendations; Kola - drama and chaos. (which I love!) Of course, there are so many other posters who distinguish themselves that I could go on and on but, instead, I'll just say if anybody thinks black folks ain't "on the case," they should check out Thumper's corner! | ||
