Hello All. Many of you may remember me from my previous posts because I drop by this board from time to time to share interesting little tid-bits with you. Well, l am back and this time my tid-bit is a really big one!! Pandora, of course, is my screen identity, but my real name is Zebra Redboney, and although I am ordinarily a very private person I have written my biography and it is now available in book form because I know that there is no one anyplace, anywhere on this earth who doesn’t want to read about my life. And why not? I have soooo many fantastic tales to tell! My first adventure began when my grandmother BiMama, who was a member of the high-yella tribe, disowned me because my mother ran off with a one-eyed Baptist missionary. Shortly after, my father, who belonged to the Blackanese tribe, took up with the buxom blonde wife of the leader of a safari that had camped in our village. Punishing me for the sins of my parents, my grandmother decided to get rid of me by stuffing me in the trunk of Condoleeza Rice who had attached herself to the passing safari so she could tag along and secretly check out my country’s oil reserves. Well, trying to survive under such conditions was a terrible ordeal and you can imagine how glad I was when Condoleeza's trunk finally arrived in Washington because I was about to suffocate. Yet that experience was nothing compared to what was to come. I really wasn’t prepared for what happened after Condi opened the trunk and never even noticed me as she retrieved the snakeskin whip my grandfather had given her as a souvenir. As I hovered there, shrouded in Condi’s unpacked clothes, I peered around her bedroom, my eyes finally becoming transfixed on the wicked-looking woman in sunglasses, standing there dressed in all-black, wearing a see-thru camisole, a leather corset with garters holding up her fish net stockings, and a pair of knee-high boots with 6-inch stiletto heels. Condi had given herself a really cute make-over! And as I continued to gawk from my hiding place, what really shocked me was the sight of a furtive-looking man, down on all fours, wearing a pair of briefs fashioned from an American flag, and a studded leather collar attached to the leash Condi was holding. The man had a slack mouth, an anxious look in his eyes and was pleading for the whip-wielding Condi to "Bring it on so the mission can be accomplished!" I tell you, if you think it could get any more shocking, it does. Hi, Cynique.
You're back as PANDORA!!!!!
Well...as several people here have emailed me to point out...you're obviously reading my new book; and typically jealous of its power.
But guess what?
There's an interesting chapter about "brothas being castrated" in my book....where my children's father (who loves me so much, and I him) points out that here in California----you can actually see the Black man's castration in the biracial offspring of White and Latina women.
Only the castration is LITERAL
And of course, my Handsome Black King goes on to praise me for giving him such handsome BLACK SONS who look just like him.
No castrated white looking children for Kola's Daddyman.
And so many black men pledge their love for me in this book......and out of it.
It's chock full of heroic, wonderful black men.
Plus I totally demolish those black men that I can't stand (ie. Stanley Crouch).
And if you'll excuse me----I'm on the Patrick Freeman Show in BUFFALO in about 7 minutes. Yet another wonderful black man who says he loves the book, loves ME and can't get enough of me.
But then I'm sure you missed Firpo Carr's show yesterday, too.
Oh, and Joe Madison is calling me his "girlfriend" on the air in promos!!!! I do his show this Thursday. He's the former head of the NAACP and he just LOOOVES him some Kola Boof.

kola-buff where is this book of yours? is it on ebay or amazon? i'll get it, i want to see what everybody is talking about. i have 4 hour train ride so it should hold my interest better than my cad books. (ugh) anyways let me know. |

That's interesting Chris Hayden, because when I first read Pandora's post, I was convinced that it was Kola Boof making fun to plug her book, and I didn't believe that Cynique had anything to do with it until many posts later when Yvette said that Pandora was Cynique's daughter. Just for the record, chrishayden, my little send-up of Kola's relentless promotion of her book was meant to be a joke. I'm surprised that I have to explain this to anyone. And the idea that I am co-opting Kola's style is ridiculous. Parody is not her forte, she shoots from the lip and is an "in your face" combatant, a somebody who bombards her detractors with a bunch of silly gross pictures. An acolyte of hers, I am not. And you should know that when it comes to being nasty I don't need a role model. Kola Boof is not my inspiration for anything particularly because to me, she didn't benefit from her years in therapy. Your skewed assessment is a lot of hooey. |

Kola is indeed a great poet--however-- I find that Kola's "in your face approach" (in this "debates") can only keep (intelligent and sound) people for but a second. Good thing you ended your post with "IMO", Tonya, because the whole premise of your response is grounded in "insult" and not fact. In your ongoing attempt to give credibility to Kola and to a lesser extent yourself, you always stumble because you can't get past the emotions that cripple your objectivity. You say I don't know what Kola's philosophy is. Really? I can sum up what it is a few sentences. As the self-appointed spokesperson for America's slave descendants, she wants to abolish the colorism that has its roots in white supremacy and which gives rise to self hate; she does not want the black diaspora to be bleached into oblivion by intermarriage; she wants black women to demand respect for themselves and to take pride in their natural appearance; she wants black men to be responsible fathers so that black children will not be neglected. She couches these ideas in a lot of dramatic, militant rhetoric in order to generate attention and this dynamic approach mesmerize people like you who are seeking an outlet for their frustration and resentment. But nothing she says is new or orginal. What is she yammering about the the Afro-centric community didn't say during the "black is beautiful era" back in the 60s and 70s. What is she really saying that Bill Cosby hasn't said in a more conservative tone. Kola is, of course, perfectly entitled to her demagogory. Kola can keep all the negative attention she commands. The only thing I get mad at is not having the excessive wealth of certain people/families--and having a "baby's daddy" who "puts me up" on a secluded ranch with the closet neighbors I have are people I hate, cooking all the time, feeling lonely just as much as I cook, is not my idea of something to that is to be envied. It's apparent, PBG, we have a different value system.
Regarding Kola's writing. Indeed, Kola is a highly gifted poet and, I've always (openly) shared my opinion about her talent. However, I don't envy someone when I know that their gift is not meant for me and vice versa. Again, we have a different value system and your comment clearly says more about you than it does about me. I'm extremely content with my gifts and my purpose in this world--and only a fool who doesn't know a thing about me outside of these forums would suggest differently.

Wow! In the heat of the moment, some of these posts I never even had the chance to read. Tonya is so brainwashed that she cannot conceive that Bill Cosby and Kola both advocate black people improving their parenting skills. She spontaneously introduces the word "kooky" into a discussion even as she overlooks how she equated "weird" with being "nuts". She can really hold her own when it comes to twisting things around.
