It was really over when Martin and Malcolm disappeared from the scene. They could've built bridges between militancy and nonviolence and mounted a united thrust. Successfully overthrowing the government was never going to happen but who knows what couldv'e been accomplished if they had both lived. IMO |

I think it's very sad.
And I'm also very sad how Malcolm's kids turned out.
I've been pregnant with 6 boys (albeit only 2 alive)...and I just wish I could have had a son for him.
With my mind, that would be the baddest MOFO walking.
I guess it's the African in me...believing that a man MUST have a son. It's prejudiced, but that's how I am. I'm Nilotic.

Funny. I don't (to my knowledge...Hehehehe!!!) have any sons. But that doesn't really bother me any. Honestly, I never really think about that.
I feel really blessed to have my 2 girls.
I guess I figure I hope to live long enuff for my daughters to possibly have sons.
Or maybe I'll yield to my wife's pleas to adopt. |

I have a good friend ABM from Kenya.
She's married to a Black American guy, Harold.
She has 3 daughters---he loves their daughters to death!
He says he doesn't care if they never have a boy. Those girls are HIS GIRLS.
But Lira has so much anxiety over the fact she hasn't had a boy.
She told me that she doesn't feel like a woman yet, because she hasn't had a boy. She feels guilt and cries about it sometimes.
Harold could give a shit.
It's a CULTURAL thing.
