Go to a drag bar. MOST drag queens are gorgeous. They wear enough makeup (and the thick CAKE type of INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH makeup) to look that way. They have to be OVERTLY feminine to compete with us NATURAL women. Sometimes, when I used to go to drag bars, I could only tell some were women BECAUSE they had on so much makeup and were so overtly feminine. We don't have to do all of that because even with a little makeup or no makeup, we still look like women.
I wear sheer lip gloss, one sweep of eye shadow color, no mascara, no foundation, no blush (what's the point in looking like you've been slapped on both sides of your face?). Drag queens can't get away with that look. They're also the only people I know who still use Aqua Net. |

Abm, RuPaul could teach me a lot about makeup, but when am I going to wear that much? I used to know how to apply it when I was a teenager, but I've forgotten how to apply it well.
How many women have time to apply makeup like this:
Concealer
Liquid Foundation (let set)
Eye concealer (let set)
Three shades of eye makeup (main color, highlighter, contour)
Blush (let set if cream)
Powder Foundation
spritz of water (let set)
moisturizing lip balm
Lip stick (blot, dust with powder)
Mascara
Never even mind that most men hate kissing a woman with a face full of makeup. |

Ah but here is the difference.
Wash all that crap off them, the makeup, throw off the wigs, the dresses, let their beards grow out and they are an ugly old man.
Do the same thing to a woman and she is still beautiful. |

I forgot eyeliner, lipliner, brow defining pencil. Some women make a "custom" lip color using various shades of lip stick and/or lip gloss, etc.
All of that crap so I can go to the grocery store, and my husband won't even kiss me when I'm wearing it. |

Er, SOME women look like women.
As SOME men look like men.
And a lot of these DON'T WEAR ANY MAKE-UP AT ALL!
Just because you've been to drag bars does not mean that you have SEEN IT ALL. Or know ALL the VARIATIONS of looking like the opposite sex.
Hell! Some women naturally look rather masculine, while some men/boys look naturally femmie.

The example you used is a man who uses a LOT of makeup. He has freckles, but you wouldn't know it because the makeup he uses is so thick.
Some men look naturally feminine, but DRAG QUEENS try HARDER to look that way. I picked up most of makeup tips from drag queens. If they don't look feminine before they put it on, they DO make sure they put on enough to make them look feminine. Those who look more feminine don't put on as much, but they still put on more than a woman.
I don't know why some women wear all of that. But when I was younger, I seriously thought it made me look more feminine, more perfect. If I had a zit scar, I hid it completely. I thought men would like me better. When I started dating, the first thing they said they disliked was the makeup. As I got older and had other things to do, I just did what I felt made me "accented" rather than "made up". |

That's when my radar goes into attack mode, and I feel a compulsion to challenge the opinionated statements people make that are blatant generalizations. Not true, Renata. I notice that when explaining YOUR own experiences, you think that THAT'S ALL THERE IS.
Some men look quite naturally feminine, and have been teased about it all of there lives. EVERY gay man is NOT FLAMBOYANT! Different strokes for DIFFERENT FOLKS!
Some women look naturally masculine, and have been TEASED about it all of THEIR lives.
Every masculine looking woman does NOT have to wear get-ups or wigs.
Not ALL women looooove makeup. Personally, I was flabergasted when you said you put all of this war paint on to go to the.....store.
I have never understood women like that.
There are glam women and glam drag queens.
There are women who like themselves just FINE and do not wear any makeup at all!
There are women who look like dudes without much effort. All they do is sport the baggy clothing--nothing else changes.
There are women who are better at sports than some men.
I see a lot more women INTO THE MIND rather than glam/hot looks. They want to get ahead.
Some men who can cook and sew and keep a house better than some women. And ALL of them are NOT gay. |

I did that when I was much younger, before 24. I never said that some men don't look feminine. The example you gave is a man who uses a lot of makeup. Find a pic of one who doesn't use a lot of makeup and we can use that example instead. |

The makeup I used didn't go on thick enough to cover freckles unless you PILED IT ON. And no piling it on would ever get it to cover natural eyebrows. You have to use STAGE makeup to get that kind of coverage. |

Let me get in here for a second. I have noticed an ongoing relentless degree of carping against this woman Kola Boof. Although I have just recently started writing a few posts here and there, I have been reading this board for a long time with amusement and at times, revulsion. My question is this, why would someone have the need to compare Kola Boof to a famous drag queen? What is the point? I am not a Kola disciple or her personal cheer leader because I have seen her post some opinions and thoughts that I totally disagreed with. Some were extremely racist and I’m not sure if she was writing these things for provocative sensationalism and to watch the responses or if she really believed what she was writing. I know that she had some very strong opinions and she was very passionate in her writing. I also understand that she is now moving on and will not longer participate on this board. But why the ongoing personal attacks? Not criticizing or looking for a rock throwing contest but just trying to understand the motivation. Can anyone explain? |

Feminine males 'more attractive'
Men with feminine faces will be luckier in love as most women are attracted to them rather than masculine men, Liverpool University scientists say.
While square-jawed men attract beautiful women, the less macho ones have a wider choice as their face type is more in demand.
Most women like a feminised face, but those who rated themselves attractive went for the classic masculine face.
Feminine faces tend to be linked with stability and caring, scientists said.
Several hundred students and staff at the university were shown a selection of computer-generated faces, manipulated to look either more masculine or feminine.
They were asked to judge what facial type they were most attracted to.
"Facial types indicate how a particular person might behave in a relationship and the potential benefits they could give to offspring," said Dr Tony Little, from the University of Liverpool's School of Biological Sciences.
"A masculine face is linked to high testosterone levels, which demonstrates good genetic qualities.
"Those women who prefer masculine men are selecting genetic benefits for their children, despite the fact that high testosterone levels can also increase the likelihood that the male will have an affair.
"Those men with a feminine face tend to be associated with stability and caring," he added.

A second study showed that women seen with a dominant male were rated more attractive by other men.
The male volunteers were shown pictures of fictitious couples and asked to rate the male's dominance in relation to themselves and how attractive they found the female.
Men who rated themselves as attractive preferred women with feminine facial features, such as a small nose and chin and large eyes, which are indicators of fertility.

Who knows, Cynique? What I wonder about, and find interesting, is the time frame of events. Kola announces her departure for a "book tour"(?!) and the board is strangely bombarded by a slew of new, outraegous posters who are extremely zealous in their views--and also have a very unique, very noticeable writing style and writing format.
The more I read, the more I believe these new posters are nothing more than "characters" created by a bored, lonely woman who just happens to have a flare for drama--and who just happens to take great pleasure in writing soap operas.
Think about it.

These are definitely the "calling cards" of kooka Booka.
I noted that NONE of her "characters" can talk about anything else OUTSIDE of how people fear them/won't date them because they are sooooo black! It's like the UGLY WOMEN'S CLUB.
None of her characters can hold a decent conversation or offer any TOPIC of substance.
Anyway, I've enjoyed it! They were so easy and childish---just like Kooka Booka, herself!
Shall we toast, ladies??? We have all been "ATTACKED" by Kooka Booka and her "OTHER SELVES"!
Anyways, have a GOOD ONE! Today is a very special day for me. I'm out to celebrate.

Moonsigns, call me paranoid, but I have always felt that this board is like a blank sheet of paper for kola's imaginative writing skills. She creates characters and puts dialogue in their mouth. But the vibe always come through. LOL |
