Yes they are. Tell me the last time a white man was castrated and hung for being with a black woman. It has never happened. I live in the inner city in St. Louis. White folks are down through there all the time--some have even started moving back in. White folks (its mostly them) who don't feel accepted usually want black people to run up and hug them and make a big deal out of their being big enough to come around them Asians, Arabs, all sorts of people come in and start businesses and do fine. Which is how it ought to be. I just wish it went both ways. |

There's no harm in blacks being accepting to other races, especially when their (i.e., blacks') own background is mixed, whether they like it or not. Griping won't help. |

Some are and some aren't. The situation is not that polarized. I guess the only problem is when the out-marriage becomes so frequent to the point that dark and brown blacks or blacks with "nappy" hair begin to dissapear in a matter of generations. Like in argentina: They once had black people too, but they were interbred out of existance. |

I'm not even gonna lie...I get my baby's shoes at payless.... But he's only a year old and doesn't wear them long enough to even wear them out or even get them dirty, so I refuse to pay 40.00 for shoes for him at this age. |

It's so difficult to get to Wal-Mart here. You have to go to the suburbs outside the perimeter: Lithia Springs, Marietta, Lawrenceville, etc. I could drive there, but who's got that kind of time or gas. I loved it when I lived in Mobile...2 within driving distance. Great place for linens and towels. I've never bought clothes or shoes there, so I really can't say if it's as bad as people say it is. |

WalMart is a multi-billion dollar enterprise and its not about how "bad people say it is", it's about the people who don't say its bad because they either can't afford to shop elsewhere or that they aren't impressed with labels and high-price tags. |

They've been trying to get a Wal-Mart in the Cascade area since 2002, and 17 different neighborhood associations are fighting it coming here. (I didn't even know we HAD 17 different associations here.) They're trying to get one in Midtown, too, but again, the residents are fighting it. Funny thing: Target seems to have no problem getting locations intown. I guess if I want to go, I'll have to drive to Lithia Springs...But, heck, I drive all the way north to Sandy Springs to get my hair done, so I guess Lithia isn't such a long drive. |

When WalMart come into a community, it devastates all the small businesses who can't compete with its lower prices. There are also complaints that it doesn't allow it's employees to unionize. Everybody hates this retail Godzilla - except the consumers. |

Well, Target has low prices, also, but they don't seem to have the same problem. Maybe it's the unionization thing. I don't want them here, either, and won't shop there if they come here. We have enough traffic here without it. |
