I get very tired of people asking for black people to do something nobody else does--nobody else is together.
It is racism to insist that we all have to be together. This is not possible and neither is it desireable.
I ain't interested in getting with Condoleeza, Clarence, or that Crouch the toad and they ain't interested in being with me if they got any sense. |

Chris, they're more together than you think.
I talk A LOT to people and ask a lot of questions. When I eat out, somehow I end up meeting the owner, and will take my time talking to him and asking a million questions. When I go to a lot of places, I ask a million questions. (I'm very friendly that way).
Here are some facts I've learned directly from them:
1. Why are so many Asian beauty supply stores offering rock bottom prices and such? When they own the store, they GET TOGETHER WITH OTHER beauty supply store owners and buy in bulk (the larger the bulk, the cheaper it is), instead of each store buying by itself.
2. Have you noticed that when a Chinese or Indian restaurant closes, another one opens in that same place? When the owner decides to move, they will find someone FROM THEIR OWN COMMUNITY who wants to buy it, even sometimes finance it for them, before putting it on the open market.
That's why it seems that, for instance, an Indian family always owns a convenience store. It's not the same family. They sold it to another family, instead of selling it to white people, black people, or hispanic people.
If they don't know someone who wants to buy their business, they put an ad in Khabar magazine (in Atlanta/Southeast).
3. Do you ever look to see that when you visit a store, if it's Asian/Hispanic/Indian owned, only their kind are working there? If they need help, they will hire family members, or friends of family members, or family members of friends, before they'll post that they need help.
Go to an Indian restaurant, and get to know people. You'll find out that the owner's sons are the waiters, his daughter is the cashier, his brother in law is the cook. And if he doesn't have enough family to do that, his friend's family may need jobs.
Likewise, even with more professional careers. Khabar is a magazine geared toward Southeast Asians. Indo/Pak/Bangla Business owners post their help wanted ads in THIS MAGAZINE ONLY, and not in "general" newspapers that everyone reads.
But it's also important to note that these people come from cultures where men are taught to work for their family unit.
In this culture, people are taught to work for themselves only, and screw husband, wife, mother, father, daughter, son. They're on their own.
Also, in other cultures, men are raised to be their own boss.
In this culture, the first thing you learn is that you need an education TO WORK FOR SOMEONE ELSE.

The answer unfortunately is probably no. They can't do it in Asia either though. The world is a sick twisted place. Probably the best solution is to do your part in getting along with folks regardless of hue. Then at least you know YOU'RE doing the right thing.

ive learned that this isnt just a problem in our community...
take a white family for example, one daughter is dark haired and the other is blonde... the dark haired will hate the blonde for being blonde...
every race has their problems... the only problem is with us whites think we are so entertaining with this light skinned dark skinned thing... they laugh and say "they are all niggers light and dark" just because you have light skin doesnt give you any passes... especially not with whites... they dont give a damn... |

Who cares if white people think we're all the same -- we know that we're not. And how trite are the "we're all the same" and "I love all hues" cants (when it's convenient or when we're in public). Bacause the fact of the matter is, if we're really all the same and we loved each other that much, the darker ones wouldn't be scraping the bottom. Why aren't the projects as diverse as the "black community?" Some hues are not the same; and they are not being shown the "love."

First of all you can't say all of anything -- but, Cynnique, it has been written about and talked about (on talk shows and radio) and thoroughly documented that the deeper one gets into the ghetto.. THE DARKER IT BECOMES. WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN. You need to either start reading more or getting out more because YES! it's situated by color. The next time you go to the projects or the deep ghetto, count the number of high yellards Vs. authentic (looking) blacks.... and don't feel bad.. MANY SOCIOLOGISTS HAVE.

As long as you and I have not established what is dark and a distinction is not made between high-yellow and light skin then this argument is going nowhere. And if the sociologists who made these studies are white, then forget it. Also, if what you say is true, then how you can you blame people for mating with lighter people in order to spare their children the disadvantage of being dark-skinned. |

Hey Tonya, most black women at dinner parties are my color or lighter.
Most black women inmates in any prison are dark black with nappy hair. So I guess it's just a coincidence.

It pains me to look at my pitch black niece.. not because she isn't beautiful, in fact, she's drop dead gorgeous.. but knowing what she must be going through in this "white is right" society.. breaks.. my.. heart.... But NEVER have I looked at her and thought that arresting her image was the right way to go. NEVER! When I gaze such exquisite beauty it is SOCIETY that needs turning up-side-down.... Hey tonya,
It's clear from that statement we both agree that some dark-skinned women are brainwashed. If they weren't they wouldn't try to intentionally breed light babies. I haven't been surround by only psychopathic cases.

Don't you HATE when people say, she's pretty to be dark skinned. I had a serious beef with a dude over that. He told me most pretty women were light. He's got a blue black cousin that is drop dead gorgeous. His family is from N.O. though, so go figure. |

Well....it does depend on where one lives.
Ever been to Mississippi or some parts of Georgia or Florida.
I have seen some of the MOST butt-ugly people from BOTH RACES.
It's not enough that these folks are unattractive (but they have no shortage of husbands, beaus and children), but then they go and put fatback and biscuits on top of it-----creating an UGLY EXPLOSION.
I'm sorry, but NOT everybody is attractive.
It doesn't necessarily mean that you hate a particular people; it just means that you have EYES in your head. |

my people are so lost its not funny... its not up to society to validate us and our skin color... its up to each of us as individuals to not allow anyone to speak negatively against our culture... we as black people living in this damn country need to get off our color stuck high horses and get real... other people are not going to appreciate our hue if we dont... we have to make each other feel good about our skin tones regardless of what YT has to say...
I dont allow anybody I know to say anything negative about any my culture and the different skin tones we come in... I am quick to check other blacks who say dumb shyt about dark skin... damn slave minded fools...
even if we hate to admit it, whatever negative things other races have to say about us we take that shyt to heart... we have no strength as a race at all whatsoever... to say that we are black and proud is a damn joke.. we make a bigger issue over skin tone than anybody else... so busy trying to "pass" or fit in with those people... scared to be black and scared to love being black...
"OMG my babies so dark society is not going to accept him"... OMG she has nappy hair and she's so dark... so fycking what, isnt that what africans look like? arent we "African american"?
GOd forbid a black should have nappy hair... oh no thats just not right... they must be a bad representation of our race... and we musnt look bad in front of other races...
we have no loyalty to one another, we could give a fyck less about this race, our kids are in trouble, no daddies in the home, half of us secretely want to be white... the other half want half white kids... no pride at all to be found amoungst this race of confused fools...

yeah...and according to white peoles standards as well as international standards, there's a such thing as race too...does that make it true biologically?...No.
This is in no way to say that race isn't improtant becuase socially and politically race actually does exist and people who don't look like what we label "white people" are descriminated agaisntdaily.
however,God didn't create races and there is all kinds of proof of this. The simple fact that there is more genetic diversity within races than between races should tell us that race is an illusion created by human beings and that it's not natural. |
