Hi Moonie. Thought about you the other night when there was this reaaaaaaly big orange moon hanging up there in the sky like a lantern. And, of course, with passage of the winter solstice on December 21st, we are now going toward the light. |

I wonder what made her decide to have a natural kid this time.
And she looks about 5 months ahead. Makes me wonder: was that baby concieved when she adopted Zahara? Was that baby (*gasp!dare I say it!*) PLANNED?! O.O! ;D |

Hey Moonsigns! Welcome back! Glad you enjoyed your holidays -- I hope it wasn't too busy.
Anyhoo..
you gotta read this book that was written by a white man (Walt Harrington) who married a black women, had 2 black kids, and set out on a journey to understand black folks (which is what he wrote about).... The book was alright, definitely good for references, but he's an arrogant, racist asswipe and, I swear to god, all throughout the book I kept thinking, good lord he reminds me of Moonsigns. He's her twin.. prob'ly even her soul mate.... The similarities were so strong that at times it was eerie -- I'm telling you, it was min-blowing..... Anyway, You gotta read this book. It's called "Crossings" published by HarpoCollins.

Tonya,
I take zero interest in reading about this man's "journey" to "understand black folks"--as if they are some kind of lab rats that need studying. Anyone with even a wee bit of sense and decency can comprehend the social and political ramifications slavery has had on this country and Black Americans. It would be a waste of my precious time to focus my attention on this book for any period of time. I can't believe you'd read that shyt--well....maybe I can.
