I came across this MB several months ago and whenever time permits, I enjoy reading many thought provoking posting on this site. Although I am not planning to be a regular participant, due to limited time, I wanted comment on this despicable character “The_ethiopian” with the viewpoint of someone from that part of the world. My father is from Somalia and mother from Trinidad (yeah, it is a nice combination;-) ) Frankly, I am not even sure where to begin with the inconsistency and warped logic of this character. First, as many of you suspected or rather stated, I very much doubted this is indeed an Ethiopian person, but rather a Klan card carrying racist! Secondly, I am NOT sure how one qualifies Ethiopians as “non-Negroes”, if there is such a thing! Like any other African societies, Ethiopia consists of tribalism/clan system from highlands like Tigray to lowlands Oromo…but I have yet seen a white Ethiopian. Furthermore, the idea of ethnicity, as it we know it in America, is much different in African. Ethnicity is not synonym to race; in this case Ethiopians may consist of many different ethnics, but they are in BLACK race. Same logic is applicable to Kenya where Kikuyu, Lou (sp?), Mesia(sp?) are different ethnics, but they are all Kenyans and ALL BLACK. As the rest of nonsense about the predicament of blacks in America, I am wondering where this person is getting his/her statistics—if that qualifies as statistics (e.g. 50+ of blacks in NY unemployed)!
