Unfortunately, no. My husband has lived in England and Australia. His brother has lived in England, and their sister now lives in Canada. I have a lot of friends who have lived in 3 countries before they turned 25. My second best friend is back in Japan but has lived here, in South Korea, and in Kenya. And he's only 30. Wish I was so lucky. |

Renata- Did your husband like Australia? I hear conflicting views. Some say it's full of "white trash snobs" others say the Aussies are friendly and creative. |

I heard stories about Australia being very racist against Blacks. But, I heard that England has its parts that are very cool and liberal and other parts that aren't. My mom and sister just took a vacation this past summer on a tour of Europe. And they said that the French and English were very nice. Paris and London they said are full of interracial couples. And Paris is practically mostly Middle Easterners and Africans. They also went to Holland and Poland. |

Ms. Robyn, I had the good fortune of traveling (and residing) between the U.S. and Europa several times since my father was in the armed forces. I was born overseas actually. And had the further good fortune of receiving part of my education via the American Dependents school system - which was such a blessing. No overcrowding, no forced segregation, no drama, no nothing - just a wonderful education during my childhood years. And lifelong happy memories of being in Europa before most everyone there started hating on foreigners. Merry Christmas |

I first visited Europe and the Middle East back in 1987, and it was much more laid-back and mellow than it is now. Especially Greece and Turkey. Too bad they switched to the euro and opened their borders for cheap foreign labor....Now, these countries are shitholes. |

Having a fear of flying really inhibits one's wanderlust. I'm an arm-chair traveler and I've been all over the world via the Discovery and National Geographic cable TV chanels. Surprise! Surprise. |

Dear Cynique, All this time I thought you were fearless. As someone who has traveled and flown quite extensively, let me assure that flying is perfectly harmless. It's only the crashing that sucks. Anyway, it's not too late for you. I urge you to get over your fears and take a trip somewhere and have some fun. You'll be glad you did.

Mzuri- You are very fortunate to have seen the world as a military family. My dad was in the Navy, but we were always stateside. Slightly off topic, but can you count the number of times, someone asked you if you were a "military brat"? I can't. LOL. |

I have flown out of necessity, Mzuri, but I haven't reached the point where flying across oceans is a necessity. |

Robyn - It's a given that children of a military family are referred to as Army or Navy brats. But let me assure you that I never exhibited bratty behavior. I can't really recall ever being called an Army brat to my face, probably because everyone around me was military people. Ms. C - On second thought, flying isn't as much fun as it used to be before the terror attacks. I remember flying to Vegas or L.A. or wherever on a whim - and now it's all such a major hassle. Those damn terrorists just messed things up for everyone
