Natural and sexual selection to ABM
hi abm, i know this is late but i decided to make it another topic since we were discussing rather or not there are certain "natural" beauty standards that men and women go by when choosing one another. Plus the other thread got buried anyway......Anyway, alot of how we see beauty can be explained by natural and sexual selection and it doesnt only occur in animals but it occurs in humans as well.
sexual selection is when human beings select the opposite sex according to how fertile they will be...fertility means a woman or man can produce healthier children and more children.
natural selection has to do with the enviornment and how our bodies adapt to the climate. For instance.....if you lived in africa there was once a need for women to have big butts in order to carry the babies on their back and to store food in order to survive long droughts. this is why the big butt became such a beauty satandard in africa and everywhere else in the world up until recently. So the woman with the larger behind was able to survive longer.
This is kind of like the type of sexual selection you will find in the case of butterflies. Very few butterflies are albinos ...there were at one time alot of white butterflies but now they are rare to find...why? because they got bred out of existence.....The other butterflies did not find them attractive enough to mate with because it would be harder for a white butterfly to survive.

here are a few examples from a few articles that explain sexual selection
This article below explains how women advertize fertility through the face....this can also be used as an explanation for why women wear lipstick to accent their lips and why most men on average prefer women with wider hips and a larger butt. Women with wider hips , larger behinds , larger breasts and smaller waists have more estrogen and are better for child bearing. Estrogen is also the reason men tend to prefer women with more wide open eyes. That kind of goes along with what you were saying in the other thread about beauty being found in the most exaggerated features…well, that is why. Anyway here is the article below:
"Facial appearance in males and females diverges during puberty. The level of estrogen a woman has during puberty affects how much the bones of her face will grow as well as the texture of her skin. here's one article that has to do with the skin color on men and women...it says women line up slightly lighter than their male counterparts. so this may add to your argument of why men prefer light women and women prefer dark men BUT...according to NAUTRAL selection (not sexual selection)youth and skin smoothness and clarity also has to do with fertility....remember that on average lighter skin wrinkles at earlier ages and i also read that people with lighter skin are more likely to suffer from acne problems...so there is where it gets complicated in terms of explaining rather or not its biological for men to prefer ligther skin.

women also select men according to how muscular they are and how tall they are because the men who are taller and more muscular produce healthier children.
so there is a certain set standard of beauty when it comes to nature. Not saying this holds true for all people because some peoples bodies work differently but it does follow true for most.

Angelina has had work done to her face to look that way. If you had of seen her prior to the nose job, she was rather homely looking. Not to mention her lips were not all that balanced with the rest of her features. |

With the exception of people like the Hottentot Venus, its actually a myth that most AFrican women have wide hips or big asses. They have HIGH firm buttocks and narrow hips. Its Blakc Americam women who have the wide hips and big fat asses, not sure why. |

I been "preaching" what you are posting all along, Misty. Certain things constitute the universality of feminine beauty; an oval face, apple cheeks, wide, slightly-slanted eyes not too close together, a finely-molded short nose and full lips. This "cute" type of face seems to be imprinted on the male brain perhaps because in the beginning it was the sign of a healthy child bearer. Angelina has had work done on her nose but she certainly didn't have her face re-arranged. She was an ugly duckling who grew into a swan. Brad Pitt is an architecture buff and I'm sure that's the prism through which he subconsciously viewed Angelina's face. |

Women naturally want a mate who is a great provider. In this day and age that translates to a man who has a secure, well paying job, owns property and/or is independently rich.
Since black men in America earn less and own less real estate than any other group of men; this means that on a primal level, they are regarded as less attractive. |

If Asian men got penis extensions to make their penis fatter and longer and got very very deep suntans and got height extensions to make them at least 5'11 and got their hair processed to make it kinky, then yes, I'd be very interested in dating them. Oh they'd need to work out with free weight to build up some muscle tone as well. |

Abm, black American men DO lack the financial ends. But, physically and sometimes spiritually, I consider black men to be more appealing than most other races. Asian men do have the wealth and career success that is attractive but most of them are not physically attractive IMO - although Indian men can be quite sexy, my criticisms were mainly about the physical attributes of Chinese, Thai and Japanese and Korean men. |

I don't believe that all - or even the majority - of black men are packin' large cocks. I just prefer black men's facial features, skin color, hair texture and so on. I like the feel of some nice thick nappy hair under my hands and I don't very much like the feel of straight hair. Some black men can also be wonderfully thoughtful and deep and spiritual. I like that. Oriental type men just arne't sexy to me. |

Latino men are way more attractive than white men. I consider Latino and Black men equally attractive altho blakc men might have a slight edge on the Latino brothers. |

Yes. There often are many physical similarities between Blacks and Hispanics. I think, though, the cultural differences (e.g., language, history, foods, etc.) are still fairly big hurdles to surmount.
American Blacks have a painfully paradoxical revulsion of and love for our history that is very difficult to explain and express to those who are not African American. |

is MIXED with native american and white.
Especially in the South.This is one REASON

As for your stank ass, EastPest, didn't you realize that many of your black American peoples flock to Africa every year to try to find their roots and they try to hard to be accepted by the West African blacks whose countries they visit. One of my Ghanaian friends used to run a scheme to bring black Americans over to Ghana to see teh "slave coast". They would get very emotional and try hard to be accepted by the Ghanaian people. So I do not get why this Eastwest armpit seems to believe that Black Americans hate Africans or something
By the way, when the Black Americans go on those trips to Ghana, the Ghanaians often call the Black Americans "white people" and don't accept them as Africans at all. They actually laugh at and about them. Very sad. |

Wow! You just gave some readers a dose of very true but very bitter medicine. You're absolutely correct. They make no distinctions and they will refer to black Americans as "white". That is how ignorant and contemptuous they are of black Americans. And they do not connect nor see BA's as brothers (they way black Americans see them). I've never bought into the "I Love The Mother Land" scam! Only black Americans are mindlessly deluding themselves of this world wide umbrella of folks of color, with them sitting in the middle grinning, high fiving everyone and swapping stories on the evils of the white man. The reason that people from Ghana, Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Senegal claim American Blacks is because our blood is 80 to 90% theirs. very true....i've seen you posting about this before cynique...but you have alot of people who dont believe in this stuff so i just felt the need to explain why most men are attracted to certain faces on women since me and ABM were debating over rather or not there is actually a natual God-given beauty standard.. |

i've actually seen quite a few east african women with large butts too. but youre right west african women for the most part their butts would jsut be described as "thick" and high but not nessesarily big. |

Maybe (ironically) it's the WHITE blood in sistas that's party the cause of that.
i dobut that because youre less likely to see it in white women than you are black american women and thats even when both women have the same waistline.
i think what it is is that blacks have more muscle on their butts...so when you build fat up on that muscle....it only grows larger....plus the highness of black peoples butts also make them look larger. |
