Alright, this really isn't a Black issue, because we all know that Black folks are far too intelligent to go mountain climbing in the dead of winter (or otherwise). But I'm getting sick and tired of these fools going off, of their own free will, with their climbing gear to tackle the big mountain - "because it's there" - and getting lost, stranded, frozen, eaten by bears, wolves and Big Foot, cell phone batteries dying, running out of food, or whatever else happens to you when YOU put YOUR OWN SELF in that situation. What I find even more disturbing is that other fools are attempting to search and rescue the first set of fools. I wish those efforts would be expended towards finding someone who actually deserves or needs to be found such as a kidnapped child, an amnesiac, an unwilling sex slave, a serial killer, or the terrorists. The authorities must stop wasting our limited resources looking for dummies. From now on, people who climb the mountain or otherwise willingly put themselves in harm's way with their foolishness should simply be left to deal with their fate themselves. NO MORE SEARCH AND RESCUES OF STUPID PEOPLE.

Damn--I thought I was the only one. Wait until integration kicks in more--you already got Negroes out trying to ski-- I can see wasting all those resources trying to rescue somebody travelling across mountains or lost in there like that Chinese guy. But like you say, some fools who have to climb some mountain because it's there? Hey, you assume the risk. We'll find you when we find you. They are like bungee jumpers and that Crocodile Hunter fool. |

CH - What happened to the techie and his family was a sad tragedy. A series of unfortunate events that could happen to anyone and many lessons to be learned came out of this - such as don't travel at night with small children, keep some extra gasoline with you when you're traveling, as well as extra food and supplies just in case. I think we should all keep certain things in our cars just riding around town - bottled water for instance and a first aid kit. But this post is not about finding someone who got lost or stranded due to circumstances beyond their control, I'm only referring to adventure seekers like the ones that are on the news right now. People who willingly endanger themselves. Moonsigns - I don't understand how wives let their husbands go do that crazy stuff! I would tell my husband to go mow the lawn or something

Y'know whenever I hear about people climbing mountains, it reminds me of when I got my whole life insurance policy. The agent asked me "Do you bungie jump?" "Do you go mountain climbing?" "Fly diving?" "Drag racing?" I thought they were really dumb questions, but now I see the reasoning behind them. If you're crazy enough to do these things, they're either going to reject your life insurance application or slap a HUGE premium on that bad boy because you're going to kill yourself. |

Hear! Hear! Why do rescue teams have to risk their lives searching for fool-hardy adventurers. |
