Thanks Robyn ! Although I like errbody....Chris Hayden makes me crack up sometimes with his posts(not because his posts make sense all the time it's because his posts are waaaay out there) Yvettep, ABM, Robyn, Yukio are my favorite because they can discuss an issue and remain objective and unbiased without resorting to name calling and nastiness. Hmmm...although ABM sometimes...Anyhow,
I do enjoy NTFS from San Diego although of late he's been caught up with hurling insults and so has Nels. And I like Nels.
And Cynique is quite keen and can challenge anybody.
Tonya has definitely improved too. |

If chrishayden is by chance thinking that Cynique is his favorite poster, the real reason for this is because I always give him a chance to indulge his obsession with trying to make me see things his cross-eyed way. And stop yoking me with this old ox! A woman my age wants to be revilitalized, not stultified. Oh, Dooooobes. I've got an opening for a boy-toy. Heh-heh.
As for a list of my favorites, everybody who comes to this board is reasonably intelligent, and unique in their essence. So to be perfectly honest, my favorite poster changes from moment-to-moment, usually ending up being who ever agrees with me. LOL. |

my buddy, Ntfs, decided to curse me out FOUR DAYS LATER. YES, FOUR WHOLE DAYS LATER, after I put up a post that he disagreed with, which is his right and I don't have a problem with that, he decided to do one of his infamous line-by-line dismantlings of my post and comment on it - FOUR WHOLE FUCKIN' DAYS LATER.
So until Ntfs, my buddy, gets his butt up off of Colored People Time - I ain't speaking to him.
If you're gonna refute a post - do it promptly. Otherwise, just forget about it. I guarantee you, that person will post something else down the line that you disagree with and you'll get another opportunity to rebutt them. PROMPTLY |

Yeah, Jackie, we all have our quirks.
But I think for continuity's sake, it's best to offer an IMMEDIATE reply - same day or next day. So you don't have to go scrolling way up to find the original post then scrolling way down to find the rebuttal. But if it happens within a reasonable time frame, it's either going to be the following post or separated by just a couple of posts by fellow members, and it makes it easier for all those reading the thread to follow along.
When I read the threads, I tend to start from the most recent post. Some of them are so long, you can't read everything all at once, but if you just read the most recent posts, you get a pretty gage of what's transpired. But then you come across a recent post that's in reply to a much earlier post but - you don't know whose. So now you've got to go searching throughout the thread (if you're curious enough about the topic) to see what/who that post is in response to. It's just tedious and time consuming. A downright nuisance. Like I said, we all have our quirks...
Ntfs is kind enough to give us italicized, direct quotes in his responses and, of course, I knew what I'd written. But his delayed response threw off the whole thread. And if I recall correctly, he started that thread, so he should have been on top of things a lot better on a thread he started.
When I start threads, which I seldom do, I follow them from beginning to end because my whole reason for starting them is to gather opinions and perspectives from the people on this forum of different walks of life and age groups. I believe if fellow members are kind enough to take the time to read and reply to your thread, then you should be courteous enough to give them a response if they posted something you disagree with or have questions about to get a better understanding of where they're coming from. And if for any reason you can't give a prompt reply, just shut-up, let the subject drop and move on to something else.
So now you know the whole Netiquette Response Time Theory according to Urban Scribe. LOL! |

You wrong fa dat! I always thought he was married and the reason he gets so frustrated and throws his tantrums is because MRS. Ntfs wears the pants, so he hops on the forum to vent and say all the shit to us he wouldn't dare say to the MRS.
But yeah, Ntfs is all right with me. In light of the holiday season and approaching New Year, I'm waving the white flag.

I enjoy all the regular posters here, even when I do not always agree with what someone is saying. Of course I love the "old timers" (that is, those of you who were already established when I got here) and I especially appreciate those of you who frequently post provocative articles.
Much props to Kola, who gave me my first Internet chat board trial by fire when I first came here. LOL

I absolutely love Serenasailor, hands down. The boy never changes and he's a riot! And Cynnique has taught me the most about myself as an individual…as a human being. Her lessons had nothing to do with race & color even though our conversations were usually about race & color (chuckle). In a way that I don't fully understand, she taught me to see the "me" that has no race or color. And though I’m not changing my ways, never will without a doubt, I am building on what I got.... I'm becoming a much bigger much badder me; and much of that--believe it or not--is thanks to the one and only CYNNIQUE. ABM and Kola have also been powerful presences. They taught me some of what I need to know about others...and in some ways...myself. Excluding the four of them, though, I don’t have a favorite poster.... I learn just as much from those I disagree with wholly and enthusiastically, as I do from the folks I agree with the most. And at the end of the day, despite the situation, it all tends to be in good fun. |

Ya know, normally, I'm a very civil and gracious guy by nature. I don't just insult people for the sake of doing it. I have had a number of very civil and fun disagreements with certain people. But for others, they have to resort to name calling. That is the only time when I will get nasty. But the nastiness is in direct proportion to those who provoked me. And if you have noticed, I generally do not use a lot of profanity to make my point. In fact, I wouldn't do it all if certain people would not use similar language towards me. As I said, I'm a very civil guy and I have no intrinsic use for racist language or profanity. The only time I do so is when someone provokes me with repeated nonsense. Other than that, I'd rather compliment someone than insult them.
But when I get back from this network meeting later tonight, I am going to write a "very nasty" post in response to something that was said about me in another thread. It was over the top and I need to address this individual that I tried to be nice to.

Abm an African bootyscratcher is a long wand with a comb shaped like a hand at the end of it. West and Central Africans carve etchings of their family members into the teeth of the comb and hang it in their home usually next to warrior masks. To white men it appeared to be a back scratcher.
