Something similar to this happened before and the stricken senator finished out his term from his sickbed. But he had been sworn in. The neocons probably took a cue from the Russians who poisoned a spy who bad mouthed them. Wonder who this senator-elect had breakfast with? |

Recently a local talk show host stated that several members of the Black Caucus have stated that they are only drinking bottled water and eating pre packaged food.

At first I thought it ridiculous to reply to your post but I remember that you sit around in a bathrobe all day, babbling in stupefaction. So I'll try to explain it to you.
You go into a store. You select at random a bottle of bottled water. Now what are the odds you think somebody who is out to get you has slipped poison in it.
The same with prepackaged food. Not to mention that they have these special plastic caps these days so you know if they have been opened already.
It's like Joe Stalin always used to have them bring him several trays of food and he would eat from only one--they;'d never know which one he was going to eat from so poison was not an option. |

As to the CBC worrying about getting poisoned, first of all, they need to get up off their lazy asses and do something in order for them to be a threat to anyone. Since they really don't do much of anything besides flap their gums (much like you) what would be the purpose of stopping them? You have to do something before you can be stopped from doing that something. Get it, Brainiac.

The name of the other senator who suffered a stroke was Karl Mundt, also from South Dakota. But he was a Republican. He was stricken in 1969 and served out his term which ended in 1973. He was stripped of his committee assigments, however. From what pundits are saying, no senator can be forced to resign. Surgeons report that Senator Tim Johnson's condition is stable and that he is alert and responsive so, hopefully, Dubya's luck will run out. In commenting on the Iraq situation, a NY Times columnist reminded Bush that: "this war could be over in 10 minutes, or in 10 years" and that: "the only way to end it, is to end it.
