As many of you probably know this area was hit by an ice storm Thursday that knocked out power to 500,000 homes and businesses--affecting about 2 million people. I am just getting back together after several days of living like a bear--no heat, no light after 5:00 pm, eating slowly spoiling food out of a refrigerator. I had some good thoughts and did some good writing in there. Thought about you all. Wished you were here, instead of me. Still recuperating. Also have to go out and see how many more have died--hypothermia, falls, carbon monoxide poisoning, etc. |

Chris, Glad to see you survived, bruh. What did you do while the lights were off? Read your old 1960's Marvel Comic books with a flashlight? |

LMAO. You know, of course, that this makes you a self-loathing negro, Tonya, for daring to hint that chrishayden is oblivious to the obvious. And not only that, he's can't see for looking. You know, he's, like, - um, stupid. |

Mzuri: I do not come down to Texas because I do not want to die. My uncle lived in San Antonia--died on the steps of the hospital. His wife has disappeared. You Texans did something with them. Abm: While the lights were out, I prayed that the gas would come on, cursed, cried, hallucinated, jumped at every loud noise and mediated on my possible death by freezing or if some crazed homeless people broke in seeking shelter or trying to rip out the pipes for money (the main reason I stayed in the freezing hell. You should try it some time. It builds character. I once had almost 800 comic books. Fantastic Four #1 and 5, some old Supermen from the 40's Spiderman #2, all kinds of goodies. They are all gone. Best thing that ever happened to me. Serena: Everyone else left, was living like hoboes from place to place and about to lose their minds from it--they are physically okay, but everybody is looking at each other like those crazy guys were in The Treasure of Sierra Madre. We are Black people in the Most Dangerous City in the US, be very afraid. Tonya: You watch too much Scooby Doo. For one thing, there was very little snow. Only about an inch or so of solid ice. Second, I had no metal container to do it--we have very large rats, alley cats, stray dogs and squirrels who could have got into it. Cynique: One thing I found out is Ah Juss LOOOOVES mah self! I'm gonna let you have a little taste so you too can experience my passport to ecstasy. Doberman: We had a massive power outage not six months ago, not as many people but the same thing. People are raising questions--after that Storm of the Century the Electric Company was supposed to trim trees and fix infrastructure. Apparently this was not done. I don't care for beef jerky. Maybe I haven't got old enough. More later--
