Ladies - I'm not posting this to gross anyone out or to offend anyone, just want to share something I found out a couple of days ago while surfing the net.
One of the things DL brothers apparently do prior to getting ready for their encounters is to purge their system. So they don't eat for a day prior to and they take an enema.
So, if your man is talking about he ain't hungry - that might be a clue that he's on the downlow. |

By your logicif you tell me YOU are not eating YOU are a brother on the downlow--and you have told us you are a female.
I don't know how you got so old and don't know anything about sex. Everybody--including me up to a few years ago, thinks gay men always have anal sex. I had a talk with some gay men who were frustrated about this and the fact that most anal sex they have had was from so called straight men raping them anally.
Most of them engage in oral sex and mutual masturbation--some don't even go this far, masturbating off pictures of men or other types of sex.
But then again you hail from a state where marriage is between a man and a cow--so I'm not surprised at it.

CH - Thank you for defending the downlow brothers and describing in detail the sexual habits of the gay man, but my post is directed to any Black women who may not know how to recognize one. You know - in case they would like to protect themselves from contracting the pandemic AIDS virus which we are now more likely to contract than any other classification of people here in the U.S.
For the DL men who prefer to take it up the ass, they purge their systems in advance as I have described above. I shall outline more "signs" as I learn about them.

There's many many heterosexual and lesbian couples that engage in anal sex/penetration. Quite more than we may suspect. Gay men don't "own" anal sex. There's nothing new about the so called "down low". The so called "Down low" has racist attributions because it's been applied to brothers only. Another divisive tactic in my opinion. Many men whom are on the so-called down low, is because of religion and their family members. I don't think anyone would "choose" the lifestyle if they could help it.Who would choose to be the target of vicious brutal attacks and jokes from family friends and society ? Food for thought... |

Ok, point taken with the stats thing, although I think Latinas numbers are higher than black women. But in any event, just because a man doesn't eat for a day ( maybe he's fasting, hell maybe he doesn't like his wife's cooking, or maybe he's having dinner with another woman etc) doesn't mean he's on the down low. And enemas don't automatic indicate a bisexual man and why would he leave evidence around his wife or girlfriend in the first place ? He supposed to be on the down low. |

Then again, for the reasons I stated,it may not be a clue. Looking for clues like that might cause some unecessary trouble in a relationship. The bottom line is trust and communication. I suggest to women that suspect that they're husband/boyfriend is having an affair with a man is to first check out their local LBGT community center and enroll in a workshop about the lifestyle before they go around looking for clues such as the ones stated. |

Troy - I'm getting this information from a VERY reliable source and I am aware that there are other indicators - I intend to post those over the next couple of days. I think that some of the obvious clues are frequently ignored because many women can't handle the real and prefer to be in denial. Thanks Troy for bringing up that "drinking" scenario. I've noticed in myself (and friends when living in Gulfport/Biloxi/New Orleans) that when you drink too much, you often don't eat much. I remember one weekend where a male friend and I only had toast the entire weekend because we were so sick from drinking, and we could barely eat that. And I had another friend who didn't eat much because he was all "coked" up so often. Maybe a guy not eating is more an indicator that he's a junkie or alcoholic than anything else? |

I’ve been reading this thread and I must say that everyone has told some truth to one degree or another in their response. And to further a point that Chrishayen made, it is true that not all gay men indulge in anal sex. I too was shocked to learn this because like everyone else, I assumed this was the case. But I do recall when I lived in Japan, I met a guy who was talking about his gay friends and he told me the idea of anal sex was as repulsive to them as it is to heterosexuals. I was taken back this but I then began to think. Years before that, I had a friend I knew who I was stationed with in the Navy and we were going to school together. We were stationed in Great Lakes and he was a home grown Chicago boy. He used to talk about women and getting laid all the time. The guy was a hard core freak and into everything with women. He even introduced to me to many of the women he was hanging out with. I was very young at the time and naturally all of this freaky stuff with women was impressive to me. Anyway, I had not seen him for years until one day his ship, which was home ported out of Hawaii, came to San Diego. We hooked up, went out drinking and reliving old times. He than began telling me about two call girls he met in Hawaii and was hanging out with. He showed me pictures of them and I was stunned! They looked like the centerfold spread girls in Hustler or Playboy.
Well, he went on telling me about an incident that involved the two call girls and a Marine friend of theirs. To make a long story short, they all engaged in sex acts that involved him, the girls and the Marine! I sat speechless with the deer caught in the head lights look as he confessed his first bi-sexual experience. He then revealed to me his relationships with men. I still couldn’t respond but I’m sure he saw the uncomfortable look on my face. The subject of anal sex came up and he had the look of a perplexed puppy shaking it’s head side to side. Even though he had engaged in wild freaky sex with women in threesomes, orgies, was a master of inserting strawberries in women’s private parts and orally retrieving them (that was a specialty he enjoyed), using honey and whip cream over every and any part of their bodies and was now having sex with men, he had never indulged in any anal penetration! What struck me about all of this was despite his hyper sexual proclivities, the idea of anal sex was disgusting to him. His exact words were, “Naw, I don’t get into that. That’s not my thing.” There ya have it.

Sorry Mzuri, but I believe him. There was no reason for him to lie. He and I were very close and I remember when I was young, how impressed I was with all the women he had. He was always very open about his exploits and adventures. He didn’t have to tell me as much as he did (about the bi-sexual experiences). And as I said, I was stunned speechless when he told me (about his bi-sexuality) given his prior sexual history with women. We were tight friends and I had no reason to question anything he said being that he talked the talk and walked the walk. This I know for a fact.
I have a female Jewish friend who has a lot of gay men friends. In fact, she rented a room out in her home to one a year ago. She and I talked about this very subject before. She told me that some of her gay friends are into booty sex and some are not. That’s just the way it is. Same could be said for some heterosexual people.
But I understand your questioning of this practice because it seems to make sense. Initially, I was taken back when I heard this also (not all gays indulge in anal sex). To you, it may sound like a gay man openly proclaiming he is homosexual yet he is repulsed by the sight of a penis. Makes no sense. But yes, it is true. Every gay man is not necessarily into anal sex. What percentage is or is not would be hard to accurately ascertain I would guess.

Uhhhhhh….sorry Ms. Cinique but I’m going to have to break ranks with you on this one. I have great hygiene but the idea of someone licking my anus does nothing for me –regardless of the gender of the offender! The anus is an area of the body highly concentrated with nerve endings and, in men, located conveniently near the prostate gland. Men likely do not discuss the pleasure and/or curiousity they have about sexual acts involving anal stimulation, but it is highly unlikely from a human physiological sense that men who have tried it do not find pleasure in it, aside from the psychological barriers they may have (e.g., it is "dirty," concern that they may pass wind, etc.)
