Posted on Saturday, September 30, 2006 - 11:49 pm:        Thank you so much for the post Yvettep! My best friend and I were talking about this series this week. ASOLUTLY WONDERFUL! It originally aired on PBS in early 1987 with six initial parts; eight more parts were broadcast in 1990 as Eyes on the Prize II: America at the Racial Crossroads (1965-1985), for a total of fourteen episodes. I taped every one. This is a must see for every single black person who frequents this board! If you desire to see first hand footage and excellent commentary about the genesis of the Civil Rights movement, this series is for you. I'm currently watching Taylor Branch on BookTv on CSPAN2. His three books covering the movement and MLK are gems! Please check the reviews of all three books at Amazon.com. Posted on Sunday, October 01, 2006 - 03:09 pm:        Not only have I seen it I was alive when all this was going down (was involved in some of it, none of the big stuff that makes this series but some of our own local struggles of the late 60's and early 70's ) and remember most of it firsthand. I would recommend the series
