That is interesting - BB. I have a cousin who looks like that. It seems to be a genetic mutation so I'd say she and this little girl are still Authentic. We had a discussion on a thread awhile back about whether Albinos - who are clearly African looking - are Authentic. The consensus was that since Albinism is a genetic mutation, the people photographed in that thread should still be considered Authentic. I think the same should apply here. |

Nope! Of course not. We all have to have very dark complexions, dark brown eyes and nappy hair. That way we will pass the board skin color race baiters authenticity and acceptability test. No exceptions or waivers will be given!

I don't believe that pic was PhotoShopped or that the child is wearing contacts. My first boyfriend had green eyes. Authentic Black people can have eye colors other than brown. |

So do I. It's no big thing. Black people come in various physical appearances. Not saying it's good or bad. It's just a reality. One I have no personal issues with.

No. All so-called "pure" Caucasians have blue eyes in the womb before they are born. The eyes of some of them are blue at birth and the balance (of them) change to a different color before birth. As a result, this girl wouldn't be considered authentic in the "Kola" sense (smile) because she has blue eyes, which are a very strong trait of Caucasian ancestry. |

This thread was not even intended to send such a message. I just found it quite odd, and at the same time mesmerizing for a child who looks like her to have "blue eyes"--I've seen girls who look like her with every other color--grey, hazel, green--but not crystal Blue.

This little girl looks to me like she might have a mild form of Albinism. Then again it could have been the camera that made her look like that. However, I don't find her eyes particularly beautiful. Because she is too dark and African featured to have those colored eyes. |
