Whitney Houston Files for Divorce

LOS ANGELES
Whitney Houston has filed for divorce from her husband Bobby Brown, her publicist told The Associated Press on Wednesday.
Publicist Nancy Seltzer declined to reveal where or when Houston filed the divorce papers, and said the singer had no statement to make.
"I can just confirm that she has filed for divorce," Seltzer said.
Houston and Brown, who married in 1992, have had a sometimes tumultuous marriage, and rumors of their breakup have surfaced often over the years.
The couple have one child, 13-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina. |

The sad thing is Whitney's going to eventually clean herself up, begin to look clearly and soberly at what has gone down and then cry herself to sleep every night for the rest of her life wondering how and why she allowed Bobby Brown to destroy 15 PRIME years of her career and life. |

I must respectfully disagree about Whitney:
When she married Bobby Brown, I couldn't believe it. I thought he would bring her down.
Then I talked to people who had personal contact with her. She ain't done nothing with Bobby she wouldn't have or didn't do before she met him.
Do not be fooled. She and he were perfect for each other--that is very much alike. Should she have screwed up some nice guy's life? Street rats and junkies should be with street rats and junkies. All that she has been doing she would have been doing whoever she was with.
At least now he won't be hogging the pipe--

But do y'all remember how it really went down? There was a rumor about Whitney being a lesbo and about two weeks later she got married. I'd much rather have been labeled as gay before I married that creep. I never did could what she saw in him. Perhaps maybe he has a really big dick but damn, he was so not worth it. Whitney was waaaaay out of his league and I'll never understand why she lowered herself to be with him.
As far as partying and getting high, most of us have done a little bit of that I'm sure. I don't believe Whitney would have ever hit rock bottom if it hadn't been for Bobby Brown. |

Mzuri, I had forgotten about that until you mentioned it. Yes, I do remember: It was a high school friend who was a basketball player or something that the rumors were about??? Wow. If that is what this whole thing has been about, then that really is too bad. It's one thing to never be able to openly proclaim your feelings for people you love--a la Luther (as bad as that is), but to live for so long in a mess that this seems to have been. All I can say is, that would really be too bad. |

Yvette - That would be tragic. To live a miserable life for all these years because she was trying to hide her sexual preference for women (if that rumor was true), since that is now something that isn't a big deal anymore. She could have gotten over the stigma of being gay much faster and easier than what her reputation has sunk to now. She was so lovely and admired and now - I don't even know what to think of her anymore. |

Cream rises to the top. Whitney just kinda curdled. I never considered her to have a lot of pedigree. To me she was just an ol "round-the-way Jersey gal with a good set of pipes. |
