Have you seen this commercial yet? Saw it this morning--if I didn't know who was behind it (that is, if I thought for one moment that these elections are about that and not the billions of dollars they want to keep raking in) it might have even swayed me.
Face it, folks. They are going to terrorize us to death. I predict by about the end of October 90% of the posters here will be saying that we need to keep the Republicans in because they want to kill US (and by the way, they will never even get a shot a Bush, Cheney and them, so ain't no US!)

Chris, I'm totally convinced that Osama and them are planning to kill about 10 million US residents. That's why I'm thinking about taking my ass to North Dakota. Philly's too close to NY for some ol’ nuclear shit to pop off.
As for them Dems, I ain't even getting my hopes up high because after losing last election, it is quite clear that we can lose any damn election, shit. Bush and them's numbers can sink into the zeroes; they can screw us 24 more 7730's straight---I'll believe a democratic congress when I see one.

IMO, Osama actually doesn't have to kill one single American. All he has to do is make regular TV appearances and utter a few enigmatic menacing remarks and then go back to his upholstered cave. The Republicans couldn't be more pleased at his doing this. It fits right in with their strategy. They are mounting a campaign of fear and hoping the gullible American public will regard them as the defenders against terrorism, and re-elect their candidates. Even with the latest bi-partisan report concluding that there is ABSOLUTELY NO connection between Osama and Sadam, this missguided war against the wrong enemy will drag on and on, depleting and dividing America while Bin Laden whiles away the time, dreaming about Whitney. |

What's really funny---
I wrote about the horrible relationship between Osama and Sadaam in my book, which came out 8 months ago (Osama hated Sadaam and called him a "fat pig").
Now all of a sudden the media is reporting their fued.

Thank you. This is very true. But the right wing talking heads and the devoted Bushites will continue to spin and manipulate the truth and manufacture more misleading lies in order to justify Bush’s disastrous foreign polices and his failed so-called war on terror. As everyone recalls, previously, there was bitter denunciation of any criticism of Bush or the invasion of Iraq. Any suggestion that Saddam Hussein did not have WMD’s, or that he and Al Qaeda were not in the same bed, was met with immediate dismissal and scorn. Any questioning, whether sincere or politically motivated, was met with defensive vitriolic denunciations and questioning of ones patriotism. It amazes me how they continue to circle the wagons when one impartial report after another comes out that further contradicts and deconstructs the lies and fabrications these current administration has built its reputation on. It’s pathetic. Yet there are people who mindlessly continue to defiantly support and defend the most notoriously secretive and duplicitous administration in American history.

In my estimation, after evaluating the Conservative and Liberal/Progressive approaches I must conclude that the Liberal/Progressives are doomed to fail.
The Conservatives are appealing to emotion. The gut. Hate. Fear. Prejudice.
Liberal/Progressives are still trying to appeal to the intellect. I watched C-Span this weekend, watched all these progressive stuttering pricks up there speaking to a bunch of grey heads in a book store, nodding and agreeing with their logic.
Then I turn on Fox News.
Instinctively I want to back up the Fox boys. They are agressive. They speak well. They go for the gut.
Until the Liberal/Progressives decide to fight fire with fire, which they may be tempermentally incapable of, we are in for a rough ride. |

Outstanding! I couldn’t have said it better. You hit every nail on the head. Especially with the comment: The Conservatives are appealing to emotion. The gut. Hate. Fear. Prejudice. The right wingers are masters of psychological warfare and image manipulation. Their game of political smoke and mirrors has been extremely effective in duping and misleading millions of Americans. They appeal to the ignorance, fear and stupidity of the average American. And their rewards for doing so have been very good (i.e. the White House, Congress and as of late –the Supreme Court).
Contrary to the current fantasy, I think many Americans will still cling to their misguided fears and troublesome ignorance and let the Conservatives maintain their grip –no matter how narrow in November. The Dems will continue to stumble, flutter and not display any of the ferocity and determination of the Republicans.
