How does it feel to be getting all of this attention? Are you nervous? Do you feel self conscious? I know I talk a whole lot of cash money bullshit, like I'm brave or whatever. But if I were getting this kind of attention, I’d be shaking in my boots! Do you feel that way? |

Hi Tonya
I don't feel frightened at all----but I have been very ill lately, and I hate that all this is happening when I don't feel my most attractive. I'm bloated and very tired---but not afraid.
There will be VIDEO tomorrow (or Wednesday) from the interviews and you will be able to see how I handled myself in England.
I also feel SAD, as this is NOT what I intended my career to be based on---Osama---but amazingly, I am being filed in everybody's history book...from Whitney to Osama to 911.
The good thing....is that my autobiography is waking up a WHOLE LOTTA PEOPLE about black women's issues they hadn't even thought about.
People don't realize that only 90 pages (out of 445) are about Osama. The book is POWERFUL in its definitions of Africa, Black people, Black Americans, our pride, our love and our self hate---not to mention Sudan and the Arab world.
And most of all----white people get to get CUSSED THE FUCK OUT by "Mother Africa".

I don't know. When it first started out they were referring to her as a sex slave...and barely mentioning her book. Now: she's "Osama’s former girlfriend" and her book is being displayed - front and back. I'd say Kola is a very influential person to be able to get THE MEDIA to change its tune in such a short period of time. Just imagine what she'll be able to do in a week...

I seriously doubt any of the posters on this forum wish anything ill for Kola. Kola has perfectly orchestrated this (negative) media circus. She is notorious for her shameless self-promotion, and she is an incredibly insecure woman (as she has shared so many times on these forums). Therefore, it's easy to understand why she thinks this is more than it is.

That's better than a T.V. commercial.
I didn't even think he insulted Kola to be honest. He said her writing is "HOT" and showed her as a white woman on top of Osama.

I did the interview in ENGLAND last night.
I thought the HOST was very bad, because he didn't know a single thing about me and asked very poor questions ("What attracted you to Bin Laden?" "How did you meet?" "OH--I didn't know you were a writer").
I haven't seen the video yet, but I had my new disguise look, as I don't want people knowing what I look like when I'm with my children, and would like to protect my "private look" as best I can.
Still, I also don't want to end up like Sally Hemmings---and it amazes me how many people don't understand the POWER of images, the importance of leaving your own record, and the importance of setting the right example for youth (in my case---I don't want to encourage black girls that WHEN ATTACKED---sit and wait for your silence to save you). I believe it's good to be seen standing up for myself and fearlessly staring my detractors down. It's the opposite of the "slave's" reaction.
But the interview was boring and flat because the interviewer had done NO homework and knew NOTHING about me. I was introduced as "Osama's girlfriend" and then he struggled to catch up to me----as he had assumed I would be a "bunny" type and not so serious.
