"Brownbeauty, "tons of interviews" do NOT have his father as "half-African American". What many articles DO trot out is the litany of heritages that you cite, which does not mean that someone is by definition "biracial". What is "African American" and "Jamaican", for example? Does that not read "black" to you? And how many black folks, if they want to get specific and claim it, can trot out "Irish" "Scots" "German", what-have-you? Does acknowledging that there is that heritage somewhere in a person's lineage mean that the person is "biracial", with a white parent? Wentworth's father's "lineage" is no different than the majority of black folks in America. Went's dad is a black man with a mixed background. In the same way that Malcolm X could say he is "African American, Barbadian, [fill in the blank with whatever ethnicity Malcolm's mother's white father was]", Wentworth's father has a similar lineage. Now until I see definitive evidence that his father is indeed "biracial", I'm going with what my eyes tell me when I viewed the pictures (that his dad is a black man) and what Wentworth has shared. If you prefer to view Went as a white man, go for it, however...." So there's no such thing as a biracial person? |

The assumption that most african americans have a similar lineage to Wentworth's father is presumptious. The man obviously has enough mixed blood for it to be notable (in most articles I have read about Wentworth his father is always noted as 'Afro-american, Jamaican, German and English). Also, in america many mixed people were considered black (well back in the day anyway). The same reason why Mariah Carey's father is considered a 'black man' - the one drop rule. Many mixed individuals are surprised when they go america and often find that they are seen as black (my Coolie friend for example). I think times are changing though (from what I have heard anyway). I feel kind of sorry for Wentworth. Everyone seems to make this big bloody deal about his race and I think he just wanted to be a racially ambigious character so he would be able to have more acting jobs. Typical america though (no offence guys), 'let's worry about his skin colour as opposed to how good an actor he is'. He actually isn't that great as an actor actually, I couldn't even be bothered to watch 'Prison Break'. So let's just concentrate on how good looking he is instead lol! |

Savant is the typical American mulatto/redbone who has no real respect for "Black people" in the first place. That's why she wields the insults she does.

Like when Prince was called 'biracial'. Somebody said his mother was Italian. I'm sure it helped sell records! |
