Has anyone ever seen this film before? It was highly overrated, and I have yet been able to stay awake long enough to till the end. Twice I tried to watch it, and I end up falling into a deep, deep sleep. That movie was a complete snoozefest. The only part that I saw was the sex scene...which scared me. |

From "Flavor of Love" to "Brokeback Mountain", you seem to watch an awful lot of shit that bothers, scares and insults you.

They'll make a big deal about celebrating anything that focuses on homosexuality, especially when it’s explicit. That's the only thing that dead shyt is about besides hindering the development of real men who respect their manhood. Then they blame bw for there being so few men fit to be fathers or husbands. They are the ones sneaking around dragging each other into shyt like that. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. |

I'd rather watch paint dry than see two grown men sportin' Cowboy hats and pokin' one another in places that ding-dings just don't belong! |

Any 'straight' guys out there who saw it and liked it? I have a 'straight' friend who says he bought it and 'really liked' it. I haven't seen it. I still think the title is a 'joke'. |

Why would a straight Black man be interested in seeing White gay porn? |

I'm with the rest of you. I'm about as interested in BrokeDick Mountain as the man in the moon. I might watch it when it comes to HBO just to see what all the hoopla is about - other than that I couldn't care less. And I damn sure wouldn't spend any money on it. |

tsk-tsk. From what I understand, "Brokeback Mountain" is a love story, not a porn flick; it's about 2 people who found what they needed in each other. Their gayness is incidental. You "closet homophobes" act like gayness is contagious and that if you don't absolve yourself from it, you might catch it. And, apparently, certain men feel they have to distance themselves from this movie, maybe because its poignancy might cause their "feminine side" to surface and this might give rise to insecurities about their own manhood. IMO, no straight man should should feel the need to shun this film. It did, after all, win critical acclaim. |

Cynique, What possible interests would some have in Brokedyck Mountain OTHER than it included some (presumeably) simulated gay sex? Really? What OTHER reason is there to see it? Cause, hell. There are 100's of boring 'love stories' airing on my Direct TV any night of the week. Maybe if they tossed some f*g action into a good Star Wars or Indiana Jones movie, maybe your average straight man might consider it worth his trouble. |

I can't believe you'd ask that question, ABM. Just because you have an aversion to seeing this movie doesn't mean that it wasn't a film worth seeing, one that millions of other straight movie-goers went to see because it was touted as a great show case for good acting, excellent screen writing, and an interesting story. |

I used to be quite the "fag hag" and actually saw a lot of gay movies with my friends. "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" is SPECTACULAR! and so was "Party Monster" (which wasn't so much a gay movie, as it's lead character was bi-sexual). It's the true story of Michael Alig, the guy who started the huge "club kids" movement in New York and then murdered his drug dealer. Goodness, people! It's a movie, it won't rub off on you. I didn't see Brokeback Mountain only because it seems kinda boring. |

Cynique, I agree with you wholeheartedly. Brokeback Mountain is exquisitely crafted, as are most of Ang Lee's films. The love story between the two men is poignant and heartwrenching. The emotional intensity of the last scene will blow you away... |
