I don't usually descend to such a juvenile level on this board but man I sure am glad I ain't no Arab now. I mean them cats can't so much as fart without getting a SWAT team up their ass! And don't let nobody with a turban get on a plane and look funny. Whoop! Free Trip to Gitmo!
About twenty or so years ago an African American Muslim brother approached me about joining the Muslim faith. It was about the time all these Sheiks and stuff were flashing these Rolls Royces and stuff and he said that the stateside brothers were hooking up into some of that action.
I had been told by people that a brother with views like mine is usually a Muslim. But I didn't do it because I'm sinful.
Boy am I glad I passed up on that smack! If your name is Abdul they tell ya "Assume the position, fool!" I mean, Jesus the white policemen who go through the neighborhood are almost friendly to the brothers now--'sept when one of them busts a cap at 'em--ya know old habits die hard.
Man you almost feel like, maybe I better get rid of the suit and go around with some jeans hanging off my ass and a chain so they'll know I ain't no Muslim, ya feel me? |

Chris,
I could never really get with the Muslim thing because of the pork issue. It's not so much that I am some rib pork rind consumer or something. But I just have a problem with some mofos who's been dead for nearly a 1,000 years telling me what the hell I can't eat. |

Gotta give "Them Arabs" their props.
They’re doing what oppressed people are supposed to do….and doing it better than anyone throughout modern history….Can't blame them for that!
Plus, you gotta give them credit for their bravery. They don't seem to be anywhere near as afraid for their own lives…as you are for them, Chris.

I agree Tonya. The Arabs are fighting for there rights to be on this earth. Something that the evil white man has tried to deny all other ethnic groups but himself. If only African Americans were so brave. |

Arabs have denied that right to exist to ethnic groups...just as white men have, SERENA.
I guess you discount the 1000 years that East Africa was held in slavery by Arabs.

I honestly Arabs have "oppressed" Europeans longer than Europeans have "oppressed" Arabs if we are talking strictly years. After all Spain, Portugal, and most of Italy were part of the Arab empire for hundreds of the years whereas the Europeans colonized the mid-east and North Africa (which was in turn invaded by the Arabs) for a relatively short period of time. And I haven't met many Arabs who don't also think of themselves as white. Religious and cultural differences are there, yes but if Porgtuguese are white I'm not sure how Jordanians and Lebanese are not, specifically when the census codes Arabs as such. How are they physically any different? |

The Arabs DID INDEED oppress Europeans longer than they were oppressed by Europeans, you're right.
I forgot all about the Arab Empire in Southern Europe.
Shame we've never had an "African Empire" OUTSIDE of Africa.

For me, that goes for all Africans, here and abroad.
If we don't want to be oppressed, we need to get with the program.
