Lil_ze that was just unnecessary. You can disagree with someone (even though it seems you don't fully understand the point she is making) and not dehumanize her. Abdi - I appreciate your efforts and I don't know how often you visit here but you may have missed out on an important consideration. The problem here is that Kola has attacked, cursed and insulted about 97% of the posters on this forum. Have you read some of the disgusting and vile comments that she has made against Z??? If not, please let me assure you that Z is entitled to call Kola any filthy disgusting thing under the sun.
And BTW, in case if anyone cares, in the past I have let Kola insult me about 25 times before I ever retorted in kind. Because she seemed to be under the delusion that she could call grown people nigger bitches and mulattos and cree-holes for no reason (when in reality it is Kola who is the mulatto), and post such foul things that I won't even repeat, and I guess she thought that no one was going to fight back. And unfortunately for her I got tired of turning the other cheek.
You see - I'm a bit older than Kola and I have been around the block just a few more times than her. Been Black and been cursing for much longer than she has. Some might even consider me an OG - I had a much different lifestyle during the impetuousness of my youth but I turned things around. You people are insane. This board USED to be about learning. At least Kola has a wealth of knowledge about Africa and African-American History. Sure people don't agree with her but that WAS part of the beauty of this board. People used to disagree with her while giving their perspectives in thoughtful, intelligent ways--thus enabling a person to learn from a range of interesting perspectives. Did they use profanity sometimes?--Yes--but there’s and ART to using profanity. You don't cuss for the sake of cussing...you gotta still make sense. There has to be a point to what you’re saying or else the message becomes totally OBSCENE and pointless. Now, Kola has a knack for this--maybe it's because she's also a poet. But the rest of us just talk trash when we do it...and that's what we end up looking like: TRASH. I see now how I must have looked in the past--lord knows Cynnique and Babygirl tried to clue me in on this but I wouldn't listen. Sometimes it takes seeing yourself in someone else to realize your weaknesses. Therefore, I will definitely limit my use of obscenities. Hopefully, this board will get back to being what it was. |
