I think they did. Anybody who'd kill their own kids like that was crazy when she did it.
They should have charged her husband with something. That asshole loaded that woman up until she snapped. |

She should have went on birth control or take a trip out of state and tie her tubes. No man can make you give birth to five children back to back in 21st century North America if you don't want to. |

It's so hard to say. Either way we know she won't be walking the streets, but I also think SHE should also be held down and drowned and and put out of her own misery, so that the last thing she remembers is what her children experienced when she did it to them. Unfortunately, our legal system is merciful when it comes to those that take the lives of others, crazy or not! |

Some ppl should NOT have children in the first place. I didn't follow the court proceedings this time, but I'm sure the jury didn't hear all the evidence. Like about how another inmate claimed that Yates explained to her the intricacies of acting "crazy." If twelve of me were on that jury, that bitch would have been fried. No doubt. |

I can see someone "snapping" and killing ONE of their kids. But all FIVE of em?
It just seems to me at SOME point during the killing she would have snapped out of her post-partum funk. At least somewhere around the time when she was choking or downing the second or third of her poor, terrorified and screaming children. |

...And I also find it strange how Yates can so effectively kill her children - even chasing down and catching the older ones - YET conveniently FAIL to off herself after she was done.
That part THERE suggests to me that she wasn't QUITE as "insane" as she's effectively pretended to be. |

That's the thing. Have you ever tried to chase a child? They can haul ass!!! If they run from a spanking, I can only imagine how she had to exert herself when they ran to avoid being drowned!
There HAD to have been a point where she caught her breath and then asked herself what she was doing, even while the child was struggling...makes me sick to even think about it. I hope they get ahold of her in jail. This is not justice, I'm sorry. |

My thinking is that if she really thought that her children were so messed up, and that she raised some devils or whatever her story was - why didn't she kill her own self? Isn't suicide the solution when you're a complete failure? |
