I don't know bout yall. But I'm starting to wonder what the hell them Israel's are doing. Every time I turn on the news, I hear about them targeting civilians, mixing chemicals in their bombs to scar/maim little babies and just blowing up everything and everybody. I'm say’n. This shit ain't right. Is it? Seriously, is it? Here's the latest: By Adam Entous JERUSALEM (Reuters) - An Israeli air raid in south Lebanon killed four U.N. military observers on Tuesday in an attack which United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan described as "apparently deliberate". The deaths came on the eve of an international conference in Rome where Arab and some European nations are expected to call for an immediate end to the 14-day-old war over U.S. objections. Earlier on Tuesday Israel vowed to pursue its war against Hizbollah and establish a no-go zone for the guerrillas in southern Lebanon until an international force arrives. After meeting U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said both agreed that disarming Hizbollah and deploying a foreign force in its place were key to resolving the two-week-old crisis. A total of 418 people in Lebanon and 42 Israelis have been killed in a conflict that erupted after Hizbollah abducted two Israeli soldiers in a July 12 cross-border raid. U.N. officials said four military observers were killed when an Israeli bomb hit their base in southern Lebanon. Annan asked Israel to conduct an investigation into the "apparently deliberate targeting" of the post. Milos Strugar, spokesman for the UNIFIL peacekeeping force in Lebanon, said: "There were 14 other incidents of firing close to this position in the afternoon from the Israeli side and the firing continued during the rescue operation," he said. HIZBOLLAH COMMANDER KILLED On the battlefield inside southern Lebanon, Israeli troops and tanks fought Hizbollah in the guerrilla stronghold town of Bint Jbeil. Israel said it killed up to 30 fighters. Israel said its troops shot dead senior Hizbollah commander Abu Jaafar near the Lebanese border village of Maroun al-Ras. The army said he commanded Hizbollah's "central sector" on the Lebanese border. A Hizbollah source said he was a local cultural attache and was killed in an air strike on the southern village of Qalayleh. Israeli Defence Minister Amir Peretz said Israel would control a "security strip" along the 80 km frontier and fire at anyone who entered. He did not say how wide it would be. Israeli government sources estimated its width at 3-4 km (1.9-2.5 miles). Israel currently has full control over only one Lebanese border village after a week of fierce ground fighting. "We will have to build a ... security strip that will be a cover for our forces until international forces arrive," Peretz told reporters. While it was not immediately clear whether Israel planned to control the area by putting more troops into Lebanon, such talk will revive memories of Israel's occupation of southern Lebanon for 22 years until it withdrew in 2000. Israeli warplanes bombarded south Beirut and launched 100 strikes across south Lebanon. One attack killed a family of seven, Lebanese security sources said. Hizbollah rockets killed a 15-year-old girl in an Arab Israeli town in the Galilee, medics said. IRAN WARNING U.S. President George W. Bush said Rice's message was: "We care about the (Lebanese) people. We will help to get aid to the people. And that we want a sustainable ceasefire. We don't want something that's, you know, short term in duration." Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned the conflict could sweep through the Middle East like a hurricane and Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah said it could ignite a wider war. But Rice, who visited bomb-battered Beirut on Monday, said it was time for a "new Middle East". Amid mounting international concern at civilian casualties and the plight of people displaced in Lebanon, Olmert said Israel would allow aid airlifts to reach the country. Israel has imposed an air and sea blockade and bombed Beirut airport runways. Lebanon says Israel's bombardment has displaced a fifth of its population. Most of its dead are civilians. United Nations humanitarian agencies said they were still largely blocked from bringing relief supplies into Lebanon and from getting injured and very sick people to hospitals. Ground raids and air strikes have failed to stop Hizbollah firing around 1,200 rockets into northern Israeli towns and cities, where they have killed 18 civilians so far. One of the key sticking points for a ceasefire in Lebanon is the sequence of events for a deal. Many Lebanese politicians want a ceasefire first. Israel wants Hizbollah to leave the border area immediately and free the captured soldiers without conditions. Israel's Lebanon offensive has coincided with its push into the Gaza Strip to try to recover a soldier captured on June 25 by Palestinian militants and halt rocket fire. Israeli forces have killed at least 121 Palestinians in the month since then. For every innocent Lebanese the Jews kill they create about a THOUSAND future terrorists who will be hellbent on Israel's destruction. All this because TWO soldiers have been kidnapped. And the US is slavishly okaying the shyt. We all will be paying for this shyt for DECADES. |

Abm, I second all of that except for the "terrorists" part. I'm trying to figure out how people are defining "terrorist." Bush’s definition is getting shadier by the hour. Kola, What’s your perspective on this? I know you have a serious problem with how Arabs treat Africans (as do I) but do you approve of how the Israel's (backed by Bush) are handling this? |

Some of the Israelis have lost their minds. There were people hung at Nuremburg for doing these sorts of things. We should not make the mistake of believing that all of the Jews or even Israelis are down with this, though. Just like what is going on in our name in Iraq they are, like us, looking on helplessly. |

Tonya, Well. I agree with your point that the word "terrorist" could be applied across EITHER side of this fallacious "War of Terrorism". And that includes what's going down in Lebanon. Chris, I agree there are MANY Jews who don't like what's going down in Lebanon. And they reside in the Middle East and here in America. But everyone is so married to this crazed Support Israel At All fanaticism even the critics of what's going down is a tad "shellshocked" by how to resolve this. |

TONYA, this is called "WAR". Israel hasn't done anything that Lebanon or any other Arab country hasn't done at sometime in the past...or will do in the future. It's completely laughable how Israel's aggression and desire to WIN....is considered "evil atrocity" while these same tactics have ALWAYS been employed by the Lebanese and all other Arabs. Of course, like any South Sudanese supporter---I am rooting for ISRAEL to destroy the Arab Empire. It would help BLACK AFRICA tremendously if the Arabs were weakened and lost power, so that North and East African countries (Sudan, Tanzania, Somalia) could regain control of their own countries. |

It's about American STRATEGY in undermining the dominance and escalation of Arab Power. And make no mistake--I don't believe the U.S. is any more "moral" than the Arabs are---they're both the same MASTER. But the White man is the lesser of two evils. I would rather be imprisoned by Christians (white men) than by Muslims (Arab men) ANY DAY. Because of Africa---I have to take a stand. And my stand is for America and Israel. I can never support the Arabs, because I KNOW better than all of you---there is no GOOD place to live, but America is the best. I would like to see a woman like Tonya transported to LIVE in the Arab world.

Let's see, we were enslaved here for hundreds of years, deprived of our rights for a hundred more, stuff still ain't right. We have been killed, castrated, raped, cheated, robbed beaten, had our land stolen and our families broken up. We have had our religion, language and names forcibly taken from us. Robbed of our history. We have been mocked and scorned. We have fought in every war this country has had and gotten blows and curses in return. Men have been shot down coming back here after defending this country overseas even as we speak. We have had to die just to vote. Just to excercise rights even the most ignorant immigrant got the minute he walked off the boat. Dope is flooded into our communities. We are redlined. Police officers who are charged with protecting us brutalize us, trump cases up on us even as we speak. We are 12% of the population and 50% of those in the penitentiaries. We are 80-90% of those on death row. We hate our own selves. Our women are driven crazy by the fact that they can never be the beautiful fairy princess because she is blond and blue eyed. When you put it like that one just might be stupid enough to take one's chances with some Arabs. |

Kola, I think I know enuff about Arabia to agree that Arabs, Islamic and not, generally are NOT especially friendly towards Blacks UNLESS such is in their best interests. But does wholesale support Israel, regardless of what Israelis do, effect the best interests of Black, be their American, African or European? I don't see the connection. This whole thing is just an irreconciable mess that sucks EVERYONE into it. And this is a question I've always had for the longest? Why wasn't a part of GERMANY - not Palestine - parcelled out to the Jews as recompense for the Holocaust? |

And what did you write CHRIS that hasn't been IN TRIPLICATE to Africans enslaved for a 1,000 years by Arabs? Of course, with your light skin, the Arabs would never consider you "black"----and you would have some minor advantages that Africans don't get. But all of what you wrote...is EXACTLY how it is for Blacks in the Arab world.
