So I’m watching VH-1 “Hip Hop Videos: Sexploitation on the Set” the other day...
...And I’m thinking: Sex has a way of making hypocrites of us all. Because even the most righteous men will in some fashion and degree BUY a$$ and even the most righteous women will in some fashion and degree SELL a$$.
Even the airing of show was itself sexually duplicitous. Because it alleges to break the seal on “sexploitation” in the hip-hop music, yet over 80% of what was actually AIRED was a$$/titty shaking. So as I watching this, I have these conflicted experiences of being quite disgusted and feeling sorry for the young women...YET getting a boner that’s harder than reinforced steel. |

The buying, selling and trading of sex as you describe it is called prostitution. And it occurs about 1,000 per millisecond around the globe. Which is why I have said that prostitution should be legalized, since everyone's doing it anyway. Look, the wife stays home and takes care of the kids/household all day, and the husband brings home the bacon - and when he wants some coochie she's at his service, right? And the video vixen wants her shot at celebrity so she gives the musician, producer, director some coochie. What's the damn difference? It's all prostitution. If I were the video vixen I would want that deal in writing thus - I'll give you some coochie and you guarantee me two minutes of coverage in the video.
As to the sexually explicit videos. To be honest, they don't bother me. But why is it that while we are in the midst of an AIDS epidemic, which has adversely affected Black women in frightening proportions, why do we continue glorifying loose, promiscuous and immoral sexual conduct? By immoral I mean multiple sex partners, unprotected sex, sex with ppl you barely know. What sort of an example are these videos setting for young impressionable minds? |

I agree prostitution should be legal, for all the reasons you cite. Moreover, I think legalized prostitution might CLARIFY things between men and women in ways that we are sorely lacking.
The record companies, music and video producers & directors and artist are BUSINESS PEOPLE. They simply do NOT give a dayam about much of anything UNLESS it embellishes or harms their bank accounts. |

Men pay for sex because they don't like game playing. They get tired of taking a woman out, wining and dining and spending hundreds of dollars on champagne, then they get in the car or back to his place and the woman starts acting like she's going to play hard to get, or she's gonna claim she was raped.
