No. He's going to be in solitary confinement for the rest of his natural life. No TV, no newspapers, no contact with other prisoners. He'll probably be shackled every time he leaves his cell. I had hoped that he would receive the death penalty, but actually I think this is a better outcome for him. He's going to have a sorry, miserable existence for a very long time. He played himself. |

The man is crazy. I doubt he had anything at all to do with 9/11 but he's so crazy he wanted to cop to it--who knows. The government has had him mostly in solitary for years--they could have drugged him up until he was a hopeless lunatic--he wouldn't be the first one. It is obvious the government did not have squat and was hoping that they could just get the jurors to go ahead and kill him for fear of looking soft in the public eye. The man had pled guilty to this. They could have given him life without parole without all this but they had to go ahead and do it and show their own dirty drawers ie evidence came out that they were negligent at best and complicit at worst. |

I agree Chris, it doesn't make sense to try someone who already confessed to being guilty. The govt could have used the millions of dollars they wasted on that trial and bought some new homes for the NOLAs or something. Our judicial system is f'd up. |

The Bush administration desperately needed a win--but they apparently have no grasp on reality--I find it quite common in the corporate world these days. These punks come right out of B School and Law School and go right into the executive ranks and they live on computers and graphs and spreadsheets and never even consider failure because hey, if something fails they will blame it on somebody else anyway. You can bet the lawyers who actually tried and investigated the case are gonna swing but the big boys are gonna come out with promotions. Many societies have tried to roll this way. It don't work. |

Isn't it funny that at his sentencing hearing only the families of black victims spoke to him? Did they really think that he was going to show remorse then? |

Fortified, I saw on Democracy Now a WHITE parent of one of the 911 victims say she'd had very several pleasant conversations with Moussaoui's mother. She said she and the other 911 survivors are happy that Moussaoui was spared the Death Sentence. And she seemed quite sympathetic of what Moussaoui's mother must be enduring. |

It's sad. Sentencing him to death wouldn't bring those victims back. He's just a scapegoat to me... |

Well, I, for one, think the Jury was influenced by the 72 virgins he baited them with; ergo: "you lost, I won." I don't think he was ever suicidal.
