PETA Targets Beyonce at Dinner PDF | Email The Associated Press Jun 16, 2006 3:35 PM (20 days ago) Current rank: # 8,624 of 14,542 articles NEW YORK - Beyonce Knowles had several surprise guests at a recent dinner, where members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals peppered the pop star with questions about her fur use. An eBay auction offered fans a chance to dine with Knowles, and PETA secretly placed the winning bid. At the dinner Wednesday at the chic Nobu 57 restaurant, members of the animal rights group confronted Knowles about wearing fur coats and using fur in her clothing line, House of Dereon. A video of the encounter, posted on , shows a stunned Knowles, unresponsive to the allegations and appealing to others in her group to react. The PETA guests, whose tone was conversational but persistent, are eventually kicked out of the restaurant. A spokesman for the singer told The Associated Press on Friday that Knowles, 24, had no comment on the incident. PETA, known for its untraditional methods of raising awareness about animal rights, said it had previously attempted to reach Knowles through faxes, letters and rallies outside her concerts.

Beyonce should've told those PETA people go take a flying leap. The fur industry provides a livelihood for a whole lot of people. These PETA fanatics are so concerned about animals, and animals don't give a shit about them. An animal will skin and eat a human it if it gets hungry enough. A pit bull will attack you just for making eye contact with it. Out there on the African Serenegheti, those animals are hunting each other down, the strong preying on the weak, looking for a meal. They place no value on life. To them it's all about survival. Domesticated animals make great pets and everyone is entitled to lavish love and attention and mercy on what belongs to them. But PETA people have no right to tell people they shouldn't wear fur. It's not their decision to make. They should make the naked children starving in Darfur their priority. IMO. |

PETA is filled with white, hippie millionaires, and fading Hollywood celebrities. To these ppl there dogs and cats are the closest thing to humanity that they know. Since they themselves like to spend millions of dollars on greenhouses and sonar panel cars instead of the poor inner city children that they care nothing about.

Sounds like the sheltered Beyonce might need to tuffen up some. Poppa Knowles and Jay Z CAN'T be with her at all times. But I find it interesting how foks can get away with essentially assaulting others for doing something is perfectly LEGAL to do. If some joker from PETA accosted my wife for wearing her fur you best believe that motherfucker will have his/her OWN pelt to be concerned about. |
