But I find it interesting, Kola, that you'd include Ben Harper in this. Though politically and culturally aware, he chooses "Biracial", and has only married and procreated with white women. |

She's not calling for the ELIMINATION of light/biracial people and men that date interracial, in our culture.
She is simply saying that we should be black and brown and coupled with each other, more than we currently are.

I've read her stories and she has an amazing talent (don't tell her I said that he he) I just don't appreciate all the hate. But lets not take away from this post by discussing that here... |

To get to a desired point you must be strategic in that you can't be too "one-dimensional." Even "Adolph Hitler" had room for the Japanese to help him in the war. My point is, sure Halle Berry may not be "dark skinned" but she clearly espouses the principles that Ms. Boof talks about. Clearly, there must be room for "allies." It's not a strict "ok, you're not dark skinned, piss off." The world doesn't work that way. |

I kind of get your point.
I'm just saying that it's ridiculous for Kola to try and claim Toni Morrison, Redd Foxx, Malcolm X and Haki Mhubuti as "dark skinned people", but she will do it! I have seen her!
She clearly talks against "yellow, biracial" folks and then will cut you over Halle Berry or somebody like that's her actual sister or something!
Has anyone seen her in person at a book signing!!!!?
She's picking up these little high yellow kids kissing and hugging them like they were her own grandchildren or something!
But then she talks all that "my black babies must be born BLACK!" stuff.
It's just a contradiction that I think she should drop. She would be much more popular.

I am darker than Toni Morrison's complexion, but still light.
Now how the hell is Kola going to consider Toni Morrison dark skinned and tell me that I am nothing but "YELLOW" and need to breed darker?
But she sure did it.
I know damned well Haki Madhubuti ain't no dark brother, but don't tell Kola that. That is her MAN and he is "BLACK"--but then Henry Gates is a "mulatto cracker CREE-hole" according to Kola.

hey, can we all wake the hell up! you can have two dark skin parents who produce a light skin child. also you can have to light skin parents (my godmother and husband) who have a dark skin child. our people come in ALL shades. none of us who are brown skin or dark skin are any more authentic or black than any of our people who are light. kareem-abdul jabbar is NO less black than michael jordan. our people are beautiful and have different varying looks. can we stop this devisive madness? but seeing that this post was started by an "african/arab", it does not surprise me that our enimies are still trying to subtely stir up hatered and envy amongsts us. |

also, the majority of our people who are lighter skinned are NOT mulattos. light skin is a traight that our people have. NOT due to race mixing. this is how we look. lets not be fooled into hating ANY of our people because they are lighter or darker. divide and conquer is a tool used against us. let us also not be ruled by foriegners and strangers who have ZERO to do with our experience in this hemesphere. it always kills me that people can come to this country from distant lands and try to tell the black people in this country how things are. why aren't these strangers telling their people (like in the sudan) how things are? we don't need an education from a stranger. |

So among Non-black men, there's a real curiosity about black women--mainly because the vast majority of them are trapped in INNER CITIES or "Black communities" and unlike everybody else....there simply isn't ACCESS to black females.
I mean Chinese men and White men can't just go riding through the hood scouting for "young cocoa treats" the way that all other women are OPEN and FREE and celebrated as prizes.

I don't know about all that but I do know that Africans have the greatest level of genetic diversity among all other geographical groups. We are so diverse, so fucking beautiful, yet we are finding ways to establish disparities amongst us. No other group in the world can claim our diversity, our richness in our many cultures, our esthetic. White women are going around tanning, or using self-tanning creams, plumping their lips, getting ass implants.
