Paris Hilton has a very punchable face. She is one of the many overrated beauties that poisons my television everytime that hook-nosed winch appears. That ugly square man-jaw is makes me want to stab it with a pointy stiletto boot.
Brad and Angelina: You'd think she was going to give birth to God instead of a regular human newborn baby. The media kills me with how these two white people are going to bring such a "gorgeous" baby into this world. No surprise that Oprah comes to my mind whe it comes to who's overrated. I don't think she's all she cracked up to be. She has surrounded herself with people who shield her from antagonism while crafting an image that puts their "meal ticket" in the best light, both physically and intellectually. Oprah, herself, is not outstanding, but she has become a "product" that stands out. But Paris Hilton takes the cake; she is the most shallow, inane celebrity out there. Brangelina doesn't seem overrated to me. These globetrotters merit all of the attention they get because they are a compelling twosome; they not only talk it, they walk it when it comes to their concern for humanity as evidenced by the tremendous amounts of money they contribute to good causes. They are also rebellious non-conformists and their romantic liaisan intrigues because it leaves so much to the imagination thanks to their public decorum. |

I fail to see how the idea of Angelina making love to her husband Billy Bob Thornton makes her trash. Yeah, Brad Pitt succumbed to her charms and left his wife for her but they have been very discreet about their affair, and Jennifer is as much to blame for the split as Brad is. I don't think that in the year 2006, Angelina is any different from her contemporaries. |

I STILL think Halle Berry looks are overrated. She is very *safe* for Hollywood. And white women don't feel threatened by her at all, which is why they overly rave about her beauty. Then she's so often and bodly declared as the "most beautiful Black woman" in Hollywood/America--knowing good and well she's biracial, and her looks are idolized because she has European/Indian features.

There are hardly any brown to darkskin Black popstars.
All of them are lightskin--Ciara, Beyonce, Rihanna, Christina Millian, just to name a few. And they have blonde weaves.
And Black guys prefer them over darker unmixed Black women.

Why is it assumed that Halle Berry's image at Revlon is supposed to have something to do with her race? Why couldn't it be that she was chosen as a spokes person because she is a famous celebrity who has smooth skin, and a mouth that shows off lip stick well, things any woman would envy. It would be different if she was the face of a black cosmetic company's like Fashion Fair or Johnson's Products. |

Yvette. I would describe Katie Couric as being an example of the old "iron fist in a velvet glove" adage. She was an incisive interviewer who did her homework, and usually asked the hard quesions but also had a compassionate side. She was game for new experiences, able to polk fun at herself and always spoke up on women's issues. As a TV host, I would give her a C+. |

I believe that the darker skin sistah's have to be Overdark to really be recognized i.e. http://www.journal.lv/blog/2005/09/22/black_models
but there are Black sistahs like Roshuma williams and Naomi Campbell (both older by the way and still holdin it down)

High fashion usually prefers African models or very darkskin Black women. If it wasn't for high fashion, dark skin Black women would be obselete.
And the women you named, Black men couldn't care less about. If you ask the average AA male, he'll say Naomi Campbell is either ugly, too skinny, or average looking because she doesn't possess Euro features like Alicia Keys. Yet, they always use the "too skinny" route, but turn around and covet women like Halle Berry, Rihanna, and other bony lightskin women in the media.

Black men have really been frustrating the hell out of me lately.
I don't want to "hang in there". By far, the majority of them would rather have a Alicia Keys over a Garbrielle Union or Kerry Washington. I don't want to be something they "settle" for, while they salivate over pictures of Alicia Keys, and other high yellow women.
I remember when BET had the countdown for the most beautiful Black women, and Bobby Valentino (black male singer, one hit wonder) made the comment that Alicia Keys has the "light skin and good hair" thing going on for her. I can't believe that producers actually aired that. |

I mean unless were talking about true Love here, it's really just dating. It ain't that serious that you have to worry about what others like when you know what it is that you want. And trust me, you don't want anyone who doesn't want you before they get the chance to know you. Great satisfaction comes from whomever you are with. You just need to understand (in my opinion) Preferential treatment is the same when you are talking about skin shade or a different race. You don't have to exclusively date Black men, but I know it aint the same when you don't. I love my Sis and ain't givin her up for any other race. But when a guy like me meets a girl like you who is tired, it's you who look the other way without knowing; that's why I say hang in there.
