Barry is catching hell from the media, fans as he nears Babe Ruth's record. Serena is reportedly through with tennis (for the year) and folks are talking about her like she stole something. White athletes can do the same things as these two superstars and the media says nothing. |

Despite what a lot of Black people think about how whites idolize these black sports figures lots of them hate and envy them and only wait for them to tumble so they can get in the digs.
Bonds hasn't helped himself by being a jerk in the past and Serena--well, she is showing up those little white girls.
Even without this razzing sports figures is one of the perks of the fans and the news media. It goes with the territory and the black athelete just has to develop a thin skin and know that he is doing it for the money cuz there ain't no love.
It will never change. |

I think folks got especially peeved when Barry said he didn't want to break Hank Aaron's record but he wouldn't mind busting the Babe.
I love tennis and I believe Serena's so-so results as of late has more to do with her sister's murder than lack of motivation, as some tennis fans are saying. |

serena is done like any other athlete who decides to leave the game when they are still considered to be the best. i think espn and those guys gave ana kornikova more of a hard time then they have serena.
as far as bonds go, i hope he passes babe ruths hrs, i persoanlly use baseball to help me fall asleep because it's so boring ... i only want him to do it because i hate to see people gang up on him the way that they have. if it weren't the steroids it would have been some other reason why they hated on barry. the media has painted him as an asshole, but believe it or not some people don't like to talk to reporters all the time ... barry sanders barely said a thing while in detroit ... and not everyone is looking for endorsements from nike or who ever and just want to do their job and go home ... so i hope bonds passes the babe and then tells all of baseball to kiss his ass. |
