Whether you've seen this (link) before or not, read on. Afterwards, you all might just figure out how unproductive, wasteful and meaningless your relentless and childish bickering has become. It's articles like this that highlight just how trivial "black" (not African-American bullshit) anything has become in the "eyes of the world". And...this is just a small piece of the pie that's been rotting in the stench and sweltering heat of black ignorance and non-black indifference. What a sad commentary. http://www.blackelectorate.com/articles.asp?ID=1263 |

I'm glad the people of the world are becoming a bunch of fucking idiots, stupid enough to believe the hype. That means one day a semiliterate like me could be sitting at the head of someplace like Viacom. May even be president, shit. Black skin and all... if they're that stupid. Btw, how are we board members the assholes? |

Yea, Nels, a lot of childish bickering occurs on this board, but interdespersed between the pettiness is an intense debate espousing the passionate views of 2 different philosophies in regard to where black America should be moving. So an article written by somebody from Chicago who has adopted an African name and who has taken it upon himself to scold and reprimind us "dumb niggas", drawing on half-truths and generalizations to make his point, does not serve to neutralize the slam fests that erupt on this little cyber site. Implicit in this essay is that all black people are not "in the know" the way the author is. But, in fact, many many black voices are speaking out about how the media white-washes what it dispenses for public consumption. Everywhere you hear complaints about how the rap element of hip hop has besmirched the image of black folks. Legions of astute black people are also well aware that corporate America is maintaining control by manipulating this trend, all in the name of the almighty dollar. So what else is new? And as far as America being provincial, this is more true of white America than black America. Black Americans distrust the white man as much as any other people of color thoughout the world do. And the idea that Americans see the world through the eyes of Bill O'Reilly and Dennis Miller is nonsense. These 2 jerks are conservative spokesmen. Liberal America is having none of what they say. Why do you think Bush's ratings are waaay down. The author of this article has good intentions but his tone is a condescending one, mainly because the people who are going to read this re-hashed article are already aware of what he says, and the people he's trying to educate don't bother to read anything in this vein. So he is in effect preaching to the choir. And conspicuously absent in his commentary were viable and innovative solutions to the "problem" that capitalism has given rise to. |

Yeah, and in the interest of saving space, that sentence fragment was done purposely (just in case you wanna call me out again on my "writing skills," lol). Five stars, Cynnique!
