If Kola is truly about loving "authentic" blackness and advocating for that, then it would just be. Maybe Cynique envisions the same thing as well, I really don't know. However, the main difference between Kola and Cynique that I have seen thus far is, Kola is unwilling to accept that the world will never be a world of "Denzel Washingtons"--as it should not be a world of Jude Laws, either. But what it is, is a world full of many different types of people--from color to faith--that have the right to live, love and worship as they choose--which Cynique understands and accepts. This does not mean she, as well as other Black people who think as she does, passively tolerate racism/colorism, either. Which is always a misconception. Blacks, mostly at the hands of other Blacks, have a harder time being considered an individual than other colors. I have always found that interesting--especially considering the time we live in.
I think every adult human being--no matter gender or color--must come to this conclusion in order to survive and thrive. No one will ever totally control what others think or do."

My tiny feet and hands are what I'm famous for, Cynique.

I am speaking TO...and FOR millions of Blacks, be they American, Brazilian or Congolese.

I would venture that such an act on the part of an AALBC moderator is in direct violation of the AALBC's stated privacy policy and as such would make them and Troy directly liable should you experience any negative fall out from the publication of your photo without your express permissions and consent, Cynique.

And it wasn't "name-calling" when CYNIQUE made the claim that my sons were infected with AIDS.
It was deliberate cruel evil on her part, and she presented it as truth and never once apologized for it.
When I threatened to sue her, she made more hurtful comments and out of loyalty to TROY, I let it go and left the board for several months.
Several months of emotional stress that impaired my ability to look after my sons.
All because of that bitch.

Actually, Enchanted, and Cynique correct me if I'm wrong, I don't recall Cynique every disclosing the title of her book or promoting it on this site. She's acknowledged having written a book and has responded to those who requested a copy off-line, but no where (that I'm aware of) has she pubically linked her "Cynique" tag with her true identity, preferring to keep one separate from the other in this environment. Thus, a case could be made that her privacy was compromised since such was done without her express consent to do so. |

Nowhere on any AALBC sites is there a picture of me. Linda, one of the AALBC reviewers volunteered to review my book and I think her review is still on line but only the front cover was shown, not the back cover with my picture on it. This is the first time this picture of me has EVER appeared anywhere in the public domain on the net. |

Let me tell you what I see. Wherein you see this being about YOU, this is about PRINCIPLE. What you have compromised doesn't impact you but it impacts the hard work of a black man who put his own blood, sweat, and tears into building this site into one he could be proud of. The policies enacted were put into place for a reason: to preserve the integrity and the dignity of a space meant to empower a body of individuals who share a common belief in and love for the written word.

And you did it without thought, with no remorse, clearly believing that you are infallable, your actions beyond reproach, because your ego erodes all realms of common sense and integrity.

This was a self published book, Kola, and althouh Linda volunteered to review it, it was never available on AALBC, Amazon or Borders or publicized on line in any way, and was only available in 2 small local book stores. Cynique, my childhood picture was public. That's not the point.
Someone USED IT...without my permission...to make hateful, attacking remarks about what I looked like as a child.
Claiming that had lightened my skin and had plastic surgery.
YOU TOOK PART IN THAT.
And it did hurt like hell. Who wouldn't be hurt to have a childhood image of themselves picked apart and completely laughed at and ridiculed...in front of everyone?
That childhood photo, obviously, is the REAL ME. No frills.

Kola, I'm not sure of how many but I'm absolutely certain that there's at least one post where Cynnique PLEADED with you to post her real picture instead of posting fake ones.... I remember reading it.... She said she looked much better than the fake pictures you were posting and she wanted everyone to see that.

Hasn't everyone noticed by now that Kola Boof rarely, if ever, gives a shit about things that are actually happening in the world outside of her own fantastically bloated and bruised ego?
Her whole identity is built around having supposedly sucked off Osama Bin Laden, a man who, by anyone's viewpoint, was and is(if he's still alive)a pig-headed totalitarian ideologue. She has been trying so hard to play J.T. Leroy and Nasidjj(two other phony authors)for too long, and her stories have so many holes in them it's not even funny. She tried to play the American neo-cons and even those idiots saw through her story(like Hoile did, and totally trashed her to boot). Now that white America does not believe her, she has tried peddling her bullshit to us poor stupid gullible American negroes, whom she obviously sees as "niggerstock"(her words) and with whom she has been trying to present herself as some goddamned "queen". Meaning, no matter what she says, no matter what she does or puts on these message boards, she will be excused on the grounds that she is some sort of "goddess".
I'm sorry, people. "Goddesses" don't spend their time trying to convince everybody that they are such--they don't have to. They don't have to repeatedly post pictures of their bare tits on a literary message board just to say to everyone, hey, look, I'm a goddess! This obviously smacks of desperation. Kola has ridiculed my stuff a couple times(like Cynique's) because of her horribly inflated and fragile ego.
Pointing out some "reviews" on aalbc.com does not do much to discredit either me or Cynique, since these reviewers here are largely amateurs, some with admittedly sixth-rate literary sensibilities. (After all, the vast majority of the books that are reviewed on this site tend to be cheap "urban" potboilers whose writing may not be as bad as Dave Eggers', but still sucks.) But it appears that Kola the writer is just as unbearable as Queen Kola is totally fake, just as she was never leader of the SPLA or the descendant of the Gisi-Waaqs or ever was Osama's bitch. The bottom line is that she thinks Afro-Americans are stupid--especially those who swallow her insane lies and think that these obscene pics she posts on this board are funny and sassy or whatever. Atually they are funny, but the joke's totally on her.
Even Nnorom Azuonye's interview with her for Sentinel Poetry magazine in 2002 speaks volumes....posting funny pics and going on wild screaming rants is her thing, like a little child crying out for attention. One would think that anybody who claims to be a revolutionary leader and a major thinker would conduct themselves in such a way that would lend credibility to her cause,--NOT act like a fucked-up methhead!!

I'm not quite sure what's going on in a lot of these subforums--
the only topics that get the most responses are usually centered around 'colorism' and 'interracial dating', and when you click inside there are only a handful of people who are participating in the discussions--which consist of long essays which span the thread even longer.
Where are all the other posters?
I even browsed through the archives, and have noticed the exact same thing. Posts that reach as high as 200+ and 300+ but the same circle of ppl are contributing--and in some cases I'm led to believe it's by the same person.

That's how it is here.
People here at this site are very passionate about what they want to say - some more than others.
Some are very long winded most of the time colorism is the main topic.
You will come across some rather humerous threads which will have you in stitches.
I personally like to sit back and read what most people have to say....
Overall the forum is pretty decent...I don't think you will find any another boards like this one especially when Kola and Cynique go at it - it's like a title fight! |
