I have been steadily reading and am currently reading: The Kite Runner -- which I'm really enjoying. I also enjoyed: Third Girl from the Left. Finished, but was quite confused by the Dew Breaker -- I'll have to re-read that one again. Leaving Cecil Street - well, I just had to put it down - I could care less about the characters, the street, or the plot. I hear Ms. Whetstone's next book will be very "contemporary" -- gotta go where the money is I guess.... So what ya'll reading and looking forward to in '06? |

"Butter Brown" by Torrance Stephens. It's a pretty decent short story collection. |

The Last Bad Decision by Paula Edwards - it's been in my stack since the summer and I'm finally getting to it. Funny, I watched Menace II Society for the first time this weekend and this book is reminding me of that a lot - guess I'm in thug mode. The dialoge is right on the money - no pun intended.

Don't laugh, but I'm reading Misfourtune's Daughters by Joan Collins. Not horrible, but right now I want to choke her for her use of dialect for a drug dealer named BuBu! "Only 'cos she be such a hot customer is why I'se let you stick around..." WTF?! What's next, a big black buck bustin' up the chiffarobe? |
