Our Daily Paper did an article last week on the Fan Fiction phenomenon. This involves people writing stories and posting them on the net that are about already copyrighted characters, books, movies, tv shows etc.

Has anybody here ever done any? What do you think about it?

Are there any black fanfiction sites?

I almost said I never wrote or read any. But when I was a kid, I wrote "sequels" to the Star Wars movies in which Han Solo was the main character! LOL

But no, I haven't seen or read any lately. I met a woman years ago from the journalism department who's dissertation topic was fan fiction. I had no idea these were so big.

Sounds like an interesting concept. The closest I've come to this is writing parodies on that unfamous fictional character kola boof. snicker.

The Harry Potter stories have a hugh fanfiction following. Some of those stories are even longer than the originals and pretty good - so I'm told. I tried reading one but I'm not a big enough HP fan to keep up with even more of him.
