Hi Authors, If someone gave you $2000.00 that you could only use to market your book, what avenues of marketing would you use? |

If you already have a huge internet presence, then you should invest the money to get a van or SVU wrapped with the book cover, your picture (if you care about such things) and your internet web site information on the wrapping. Then you should drive it as many places as possible, write off the mileage on your taxes and sell books right out of your vehicle. Zane |

Hi Afrika, Thanks for the response and offer. Actually, I have a bachelor's in marketing. This was meant as a hypothetical question to see what authors feel are the most successful avenues in marketing. |

That's interesting Zane. You wouldn't invest in print, radio, Internet banner ads, or billboard advertising? You can only do but so much of the things you mentioned with $2000. Of course all advertisement helps but with a wrapped vehicle, it can stay that way for years while print, radio, banner ads, etc. will only last until that $2000 runs out, which would not be very long. With a wrapped vehicle, you can drive it everywhere you go and that is a moving billboard. You can park it in front of establishments and people will know that it is there, thus knowing that you are there, and venture inside. It gives the impression of being serious about your work. Relentless Aaron is a perfect example of how a wrapped vehicle can work. I have a wrapped van so I can also testify to it and my van has been wrapped for years. It cost about $1200 to do it and the advertisement is still there. I went on the Zane Love Bus tour in a 42-foot wrapped bus in 2004 and it was a huge attention getter. I will probably do another bus tour this summer. Just a suggestion on how you can stretch the $2000 the furthest. Zane |

Greetings, You do not have to spend money on advertisement. There are many free advertisements choices that one can make. Post free advertisements in newspapers, community forums or listservs. You can also advertise your product in newsletters or newspapers by getting interviewed. Peace Afrika Midnight Asha Abney |

Zane, That makes perfect sense to me. You get longevity and the advantage of a moving billboard. On top of that, those interested in buying can buy right away instead of someone who views a regular billboard from the road. Thanks for the response.

Lola - How can I be imaginary when I've had real world contact with members of this forum? Further, your conduct on this forum would lead a reasonable person to conclude that you're not mentally stable. And so therefore I would advise you against communicating threats of bodily harm, before someone reports you to law enforcement.

Likewise, Mzuri Your fellow posters such as Chris Hayden and Sisgal have had contact with me, Nafisa Goma, away from this forum, I am their book editor, but each time I post something for Kola Boof you accuse me of being Ms. Boof, and even though we've never formally met or spoken, you launch into very disrespectful and immature rantings towards me, and then act as though I'm supposed to actually respond to them. How does one respond rationally to an out of control person who is yelling at them, and especially when I don't even know your history with Ms. Boof or what your problem is with her. To me it just comes off that you're looney tunes. I am not an imaginary person any more than you are. I will be posting Kola Boof's book tour dates momentarily. Nafisa Goma

Ms. Whom-Ever-You-Are-Today, There is a major difference between someone accusing Cynique of being Mzuri and people accusing those "representing" Kola Spoof of really being Kola. That is because your "client," Kola Spoof, has a well-known history of creating numerous internet sock puppet http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_sock_puppet accounts here on this forum. She has made public declarations of having mental health issues. She has also publicly declared that she has had a falling out with Mr. Troy Johnson - which would lead me to believe that she wouldn't want to post here as "herself." For those and many other reasons, you lack credibility with me. Please substantiate your allegations of me launching "into very disrespectful and immature rantings towards" you or any of your posts. Post your links please. Thank you.

Mzuri after reading Ms. Gomas post I have to take her side over yours on this one if she is the editor of Chris Hayden and Sisgal and has posted her email and phone number here before. I dont see Sisgal letting her name be taken lightly for a joker. I can understand you attacking some other people but Ms. Goma doesnt sound like Kola to me and apparently Troy Johnson would not be throwing a big party for Kola Boof on June 15th if they are mad at each other. |

Enchanted - For someone who has asked me to stay out of their conversations - you sure have a knack of following me around this forum to see your way into my conversations with your inane commentary. I gives an ish whose "side" you are on. And how is it that you are always so privey to the goings on about Kola Spoof anyway, like who she's dating, etc? This "Goma" woman has posted here today about whom Kola Spoof has and has not met and whom she has and has not spoken to. http://www.thumperscorner.com/discus/messages/179/20037.html#POST79998 I don't know how in the world one human being would have such knowledge about another's activities. Do you? And wouldn't she have other matters to attend besides posting those sorts of entries on this forum? Something's not right.

You make no sense Mzuri I have assistants and they talk to me back and forth all day. I could give a damn about Kola Boof but I think its unfair to attack someone for doing their job. Chris Hayden and Sisgal know this woman and she is payed to post news about her boss friend whatever on the board. I can see you making snide quips about Kola but why be so nasty to an innocent person? Just like she said she's totally baffled because she doesnt even know what your mad at HER for. I know who Kolas dating the SAME WAY you seem to have pictures of everything she ever did and links to news items about her and thats from browsing the internet. You keep up with Kola more than any of us DO! I also gives a damn about you and Cynique branding me and everyone on this board "Kola". I happen to believe that Lil_ze and Eastwest are YOU Mzuri and Im sure I'm not the only person who does but thats not the point. Dont be an ass to this lady just because its her job to post KOlas press releases on this board. |

While I dont agree with Kola Boof as a person I DO NOT understand the Non-topical obsession that you and Mzuri have where you just try to GUT anybody who even speaks about Kola. You even got snotty and nasty with Zane a few weeks ago just because she said Kola could write. Oh Enchanted. Please stop the madness. Your assistants know what you see and who you speak to throughout the course of your entire life? Come on! I don't keep up with Kola because I'm not interested in her "career" in the least. I'd rather keep up with the goings-on of things that really matter. If it wasn't for her and Goma's (previously it was PBG who did her bidding) incessant posting I wouldn't think of her at all. Trust me. It is your own constant blather about Kola that keeps this forum clogged with nonsense. I have NOT attacked Goma. Yet she provokes and instigates with threads such as these: http://www.thumperscorner.com/discus/messages/179/19960.html?1167878530 But she's the professional here, right? And she doesn't expect a response? It's her job to post press releases to this forum??? Get a clue Enchanted! First off, this is not the press. And second, press releases are distributed to press release agencies, such as PRWEB and MarketWire who dispatch them to the press and the media. Posting press releases to public forums is a low-budget tactic that a person who can't afford real web hosting employs. They post this information here because this forum is at the core of Kola Spoof's tired existence. As far as your accusations that I post under alternate IDs, I'm going to tell you the same thing that I told the last knucklehead who made that flawed assessment - Save your last three brain cells for something relevant. I barely have time to post as Mzuri. If you believe that I am posting with sock puppet accounts, then report it to the moderators and let them deal with it. Please Miss Wannabe Cleo. Sadly for you, you're a clueless jester and the joke's on you.

Is that all you have to say for yourself, Enchanted? Responding to a question with another question? How do you know what I've reported to Troy? Since you don't, then STFU. I just got done telling you that if you believe that I have imposter accounts, then please report it. Please do that so that this can be ironed out and that your last three brain cells can be put at ease. Okay. Now, since you're chomping at the bit to defend Goma, then please explain to me why any professional person would write a sentence such as the following: "Kola threatened to bite of Kam's wee wee but they turned into great buddies and finally did that INTERVIEW. It came out really good." Thank you.
